slufan13
Honestly these are the minutes Manning should play. Last couple minutes of a blowout. But still thought the freshmen were playing well

slu72
JM still looks lost out there. What's most distressing is our SO class. Thank, God, it's over. 81-52.

slu72
At least we got WSU a sellout in a big arena. They must not have known we graduated 5 seniors.

HoosierPal
Again, someone explain to me why manning should ever get minutes over Gillman or Jolly? I'm sorry but Jolly does not defend. His flopping on hopeful offensive fouls is his entire defensive repertoire. At least Manning sticks his body in there and occasionally defends the rim. Neither Gillmann nor Jolly has learned how to defend the post. You noticed tonight that Gillmann has been moved out to the 4 where he won't have to bang inside as much. That may be where he needs to play until he gains more strength. Gillmann did of course have a nice offensive display tonight. But he needs to defend. Manning isn't the final answer. But at least he presents an obstacle instead of an open path to the hoop. None of the three give us much interior offense.

Agree on Jolly's defense but Manning still adds nothing and playing him doesn't help for the future and it's not like playing Manning helped us tonight. 2010andBeyond
This is a rebuilding year. Manning is a lost cause. Just play the freshman and hope for some experience and development.
slufan13
John Manning 24 minutes to tie for the team lead.
JettFlight5
John Manning 24 minutes to tie for the team lead. You just won "Depressing Stat of the Night". Well, besides the score that is.
slufan13
McBroom has 92 points this season. 50 of them in 2 games. 42 in the other 6. 12 assists and 14 turnovers. Give the point to Bartley and Reynolds. Let McBroom play way more off the ball. And when he isn't scoring, go with the frosh even more. BACKHANDtheRICAN
I learned 2 things this game: 1) Manning sucks 2) Crawford needs to shrink is head of he's going to be successful. It's too damn big.
doowop
thanks to those posting scores. Remember Ash sat a year and averaged 12 mpg or something like that the year before. Give him more than 8 games Very good point. It's almost like he missed two years of meaningful playing time.

Give him more than 8 games Good point....a lot can happen in a few months...like when we dominated Dayton on the road last year, then they did a lot better in Feb, March. Billikenboy
Ash needs to work on his midrange game. Those baseline attacks are predictable. I would let him shoot those 3s all day. As for AM, WSU defense is designed to keep productive guards in check. We got pushed around defensively and need real commitment to hit the glass. If we can work on those consistently we are in every game we play.
