Billikenbooster
last nite on Channel Five with Renne (sp?) said that in her five year plan is to have an NCAA championship within the next five years. She did not say men's bball, but this conversation came right after stating the obvious that men's bball is the engine that pulls the train for sports at SLU. Renne also stated that the hire of AD Levick is the first time SLU hired a sitting AD to become AD here. I cannot remember back before the Big Red field goal kicker, Jim Bakken, but that may be a true statement, at least in the recent past. Did Yow follow Bakken? Then Woolard. bart
Soccer is a perennial top 10 team with Donigan and Sorber at the reigns. I believe they will continue to improve and inch their way up the ladder even further. The overwhelming odds are that if slu is going to win a national championship in the next 5 years, it will be soccer. What ever sport - mens or womens - has ever been ranked in the top 10? A bigger recruiting budget and a professional outdoor team in town that they could scrimmage against as ucla does with the galaxy would help. Lobo
Has Ms Levick officially begun her tenure at SLU?
tseugnekillib
I believe Larry Peirro (sp??), (a Purdue IM Director type), followed Bakkan, next up was Joe Yates (LSU assistant AD type for media/communcations) then Yow, then Woolard.

Box and Won
Didn't the field hockey program field some top 10 teams at one time? There seems to be a lot of local talent here in St. Louis, perhaps we'll see that program return to prominence under Levick.
Billikenbooster
Any idea on the time frame that Peiro was the AD? It is a name I never heard before. Official Billikes.com Sponsor of John Duff
Sheltiedave
Larry Preo, started in 1982 from Marquette. I'm hoping Mrs. Levick has the salesmanship that Larry Albus had.

billiken_roy
preo was the ad my senior year at slu. i was amazed then that he was more concerned with intrmurals and student life and was all excited about the new slu rec center. i still think the slu rec center is very nice and was a needed facility, but my gosh, shouldnt he have been more concerned about our teams actually winning something? willie
Student Life recreation and intramurals was his background. Several of us became friends and socialised a little with Larry and his wife. I think Roy was right and Preo new that and thats why he left SLU to go back to Purdue to become something like the VP of student affairs.I believe he recently retired from Purdue. He was a real nice guy.
