brianstl
I always find it interesting to see our fellow Billikens making names for themselves in the business world. I often think SLU could stand to do a better job of promoting our successful alums. Here are just a few prominent Billikens: Richard Chaifetz - We know him, we love him: http://www.chaifetzgroup.com/team/dr-richard-a-chaifetz Dave Senay - President and CEO of Fleishman Hillard: http://fleishmanhillard.com/profile/dave-senay/ Michael Bidwill - President of the Arizona Cardinals: http://www.azcardinals.com/team/staff/michael-bidwill/61a8f54f-126b-42db-8d51-78e54b8b0288 Rex Sinquefield - Founder of Dimensional Fund Advisors: http://www.rexsinquefield.org/about-rex-sinquefield/ Chris Sommers - Owner of the Pi Pizzeria chain, Gringo, Sqwid: http://www.feaststl.com/dine-out/one-on-one/article_0479e032-bf0e-11e1-ae90-0019bb30f31a.html Wes Clayton & Brian Nottingham - Founders of ShipWorks: http://www.shipworks.com/company/about.php Matthew Porter - Co-Founder and CEO of Contegix: http://www.contegix.com/why-contegix/leadership/ Feel free to add to the list! Stamps.com just bought ShipWorks for $22 million. http://www.stltoday.com/business/local/stamps-com-buys-shipworks-for-million/article_70fbca47-d336-55f4-938f-5fde4b219be5.html

Box and Won
I just read that local restaurateur Dave Bailey is a SLU grad. He owns Bailey's Range downtown, Rooster downtown and on South Grand, Bailey's Chocolate Bar in Lafayette Square, Bridge downtown and Small Batch in midtown, with a BBQ joint coming soon downtown. bonwich
The Billiken Blue Angel was probably mentioned in this thread already, but he's coming back to town for the next St. Louis Air Show (which, unfortunately, is almost 2 years away.) http://bit.ly/1ulQu67

brianstl
I was doing a web search trying to find Carlos McCauley's senior season numbers and decided to see if I could find out what he is up to today. He ended up getting a masters and a doctorate in education at USC after graduating from SLU with a criminal justice degree. He eventually ended up at the Department of Education and currently leads the school turnaround program at WestEd. He, also, goes by Carlas McCauley now. Not a Rex or Chaifetz story, but I thought it was worth a mention. https://www.wested.org/personnel/carlas-mccauley/

Thought it was a little confusing myself. I was glad to see he has done well for himself. He never played much until his senior season and then had a pretty good season on an NIT team. Actually, I recall he played extensively as a freshman while H Waldman was sitting out after transferring. That would have been 1992-93. He maintained because of his defensive prowess for three years. He was injured in the summer before his senior year so he couldn't play 5 on 5 so he spent the summer in the gym just shooting. Coincidentally he suddenly found his shot his senior year and was a pleasant surprise.
thetorch
Carlos did have an odd career. Starter his freshman year. Buried at the end of the bench his sophomore and junior year, then back to being a starter his senior season. A career like that would never happen nowawdays. He would have transferred. He was a tremendous defender, on par with Redden, Fisher, & McCall.

I would feel bad for Gunn’s position, but damn those tweets/“offensive jokes” weren’t even remotely funny and the dude was 41. Those tweets looked like something an early teen would post. brianstl
James Gunn's Suicide Squad is getting amazingly great early reactions from the reviewers. These early reactions are better than any I have seen before. Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, IMO, is the best of the MCU movies and now it looks like he could have topped it with a DC property.
