SluSignGuy Posted March 20, 2014 Share Posted March 20, 2014 This is it. It all started 7 years ago. SLU fired Soderberg. Brought in Majerus. Controversy over running off players. Losing at GW by 20. Having Kwamain and Willie kicked off the team, which let the current seniors being thrown into the fire as freshman. When Kwamain returned, he led the current seniors in a run to the finals of the CBI, which was valuable experience for our first NCAA tournament win in over a decade the following season. Majerus' Billikens under Crews then won the regular and tournament titles the following year and again made it to the round of 32. Dwayne, Jordair, Mike, Rob, and Jake are about to write the final chapter of the Majerus era of SLU. I doubt I will ever see something like it again, and I hope the Big Guy can look over his boys one more time and get us one more weekend of basketball. jimmy two times Posted March 20, 2014 Share Posted March 20, 2014 I haven't seen a single publication or tournament show think we can beat NC State. Who cares. Last year we were a darling to get to the Final Four and we got hammered by Oregon. T.J. Warren will give us problems for sure, but so what...they don't really have anyone else. This is the game that, if we win, exonerates a good portion of frustration over the way we ended the season. Another win after this would take care of all of it and put us at a point where we might be able to say this season was as successful as last. Right now, that isn't true at all, but there is a chance to get there...we'll see what this group of seniors is made of really quickly. I think Warren goes for 28 and we win by 4.
