There is nothing there that speaks of a situation about a kid leaving, being dismissed, etc. It's also not defining an academic year. If we go by your logic, SLU could've used an available scholarship on Biedscheid this spring, he could leave in the summer and then SLU would still be stuck with that scholarship in the Fall. You have 13 scholarships every semester. A player no longer enrolled in school cannot occupy a schollie.

Lol. Good job, good effort dude. You got smoked.

Not sure exactly how seriously to take this, but Renee Knott said he talked to Cam and Drew Halen yesterday. Said Cam said it was still between SLU, Mizzou, and UCLA. The Bruins were in the mix because he dad lives in Cali. Halen said he thought Mizzou was the best fit for Cam. Then Renee stated that Cam might not be able to get into SLU because of academic reasons. He added this almost like an after thought to the whole discussion. Maybe some of the academic stuff coming out of ND wasn't bs.

No. The academic stuff was purely a smokescreen --- so says KShoe.

I'm assuming it's bc theyre in the SEC, a 'power' conference

Yes.

Power conference, name recognition, big time schools, competition plus ESPN / other TV and media recognition and exposure.

Though the SEC is a bit down, MU is playing big name teams like Kentucky and Florida that have won multiple NCAA Championships in recent years, and other SEC schools that crack the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight status quite often. LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, others have that name recognition from past seasons. Some posters thought us beating Vanderbilt was a big win mostly thinking "SEC" when in fact VD is down.

So we missed out on this kid two times; none of our local 4* & 5* locals have stayed (w the exception of Hughes).

Getting into the new Big East will help us a lot; we still need that to happen.

Well if our story is going to be that we didn't land cam because of academics then hopefully we will get a better source then a Renee knott afterthought.

While some things in this recruitment weren't predictable the one thing that was certain to happen was if SLU didn't get him we'd claim we couldn't get him in academically. It's the oldest play in the book.

So basically what you're saying is that it's because big schools have a monopoly on better recruits due to TV, ratings, and exposure? I wish it weren't true, but it pretty much is.

It isn't like a bunch of people are running around claiming that is what happened.

I think my favorite part about Haith is how he's cheated and lied so often but yet never coached an overly successful team

As I have posted in the past there were zero tears shed here in South Florida when he left the U for Mizzou. I think he got off with a hand slap due to the NCAA screwing up the investigation.
