Rich Grawer was a terrific coach and a better person and I would support any accolade he gets.     I was in school during their two NIT Championship game seasons.   He was a true teacher who had high ethical standards and truly cared about his players and the university.   He took over a team that was 6-21 playing in an empty St. Louis Arena.  Within a couple of years he was bringing in some of the best local talent and filling up old Kiel.   He made some mistakes (slow to adapt to the 3pt line, bad transfers), had a few terrible ADs (Yates, etc), and didnt get a lot of support from the administration (Upchurch disaster, etc) but overall - a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Agree they should have done it years ago. Disagree it's too late.

A big reason for honors like this is to teach a new generation of fans a part of the programs history.

Plus if you look at the crowd at most games the majority of fans are 40+ years old. This age group knows who Rich Grawer is.

3 pt thing typical of the old hard 2b a Billiken fan. Just when we have the McKinley duo heating it up they add 3 pt shot which many teams were slow to adapt to & it did hurt us :(

Not true.

The majority of our fanbase played CYO ball with Easy Ed.

For as much as I did not like watching the product on the court last year, I do like all of the people on that list and think of them fondly (except the walk-ons who I just have no thoughts on).  I hope they all do well and I guess I will be a College of Charleston fan this year.

I wonder if Sincere would be great in this offense or if he would just not fit in at all.  I guess we will never know.  Either way, Sincere is someone I like very much and recognize our situation required him to play hero ball.  It was fun in spurts and I do wish him very well.

I could not see Sincere fitting in well with Schertz’s system.  No room for hero ball, and 0.9 APG doesn't sound like a Schertz guard.   With that said, he’s a very talented scorer, and I expect him to do very well with Will Wade and McNeese.

The article said training camp roster, and there were 17 players on it. How many on a G league regular season roster, and when do the final cuts need to be made.

Posted

G league rosters are typically 13 players. 2-3  2 way guys, 2-3 exhibit 10 affiliate players.  So there are between 8-10 spots for actual g league players.

Regular season rosters are set by Nov 7th.  G League will cut borderline guys on the first or 2nd day typically so should know soon if Perkins has a chance at catching on.

Thanks. I guess we’ll find out relatively quickly if he catches on

LOTs of places are closing doors and laying off employees, this goes from retail, to service companies, to transportation. to manufacturing, etc. For example in the manufacturing area, Harley Davidson moved at least some operations to Thailand and John Deere to Mexico. Boeing is a major example of this kind of ongoing reorganization. Large numbers of employees are being laid off by all these companies. Of course, the CEOs everywhere continue getting enormous compensation packages. The laid off employees just get a package that includes some extra time with salary and benefits.
