it would surprise me. at least not his first choice for a player.  i would hope ford has his sights set a little higher for players.   not that justin wouldnt serve a purpose and be productive, i just think ford can do better.

Ford did not let Johnson go. When it happened Ford expressed that he was caught off guard by the departure.  Clearly Ford wanted a stretch player like Johnson... that's why he had to scramble and go out and take a flier on Hankton. This is not a case of Ford letting a player go, to add somebody else he had in mind.

Lancona barely averaged double figures for the Point Loma Sea Lions.

Those Crews teams were some of the most dysfunctional in Billikens history.  Crews not only couldn't recruit talent, the only talent he brought in was headcases and felons.
