How many of these should be on our Interest list above?

I have heard Jimmy Whitt from Columbia is a stud, not sure whether there is mutual interest there. I have also heard good things about Kevin Puryear, but again don't know whether there is any interest there.

Story on Christian Williams:

http://ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=1734

Money Quotes:

Williams told NY2LASPORTS.COM that he has scholarship offers from Bradley, UW-Green Bay, Illinois State, and SIU-Edwardsville and is also hearing from Illinois, Indiana State, Saint Louis, Wichita State, and Xavier.

"I think I'm going to Saint Louis next Sunday," Williams said. "I think they're playing Wichita State so it should be a great game and I'm excited for it."

I guess the Welmer commitment will go here. Here's the last bio I had for him:

Elliott Welmer: Columbus North, Columbus, IN - PF: 6-8, 195. Offers: SLU, Wright State, Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois. Interest: Butler, Purdue, IPFW. Latest (11/25): Welmer attended the SLU-Bowling Green game. Previous: Welmer attended SLU's camp with Tucker Blackwell (2016), Nai Carlisle (2015), Matt Holba (2015), Taishaun Johnson (2013), and Filip Serwatka (2015). He visited Northern Kentucky recently with Josh Speidel, a 2015 recruit from the same HS as Welmer, and also a kid on SLU's radar. He visited Wright State in mid-November. Welmer seems to be growing still, as he is listed as a SF and an inch or two shorter by many recruiting services. He plays for the Eric Gordon All Stars AAU team. As a junior, he was ranked the 26th prospect in Indiana's class of 2014 (McIntosh: 7, Mercer: 8, Brennan: 10, Mitchell: 90), and the report was: "[Welmer] is relatively unknown, but is getting big minutes and scoring some points this winter for North...He had a good summer and should land his name on the radar of some schools...Has good perimeter skills for a guy of his size, handles the ball well...I think that Elliott will still grow another inch or two and his game is just starting to come into its own...He shoots the ball well from the perimeter and blocks shots defensively...I am sure I have him higher than most people, but I think he will end up moving up even more within the next year...Keep an eye out for him." Welmer's uncle is Steve, who officiated a ton of SLU and other big-time college basketball games over the years. Twitter: @Welmer_33

-Welmer will sign in the spring or take a year of prep school. Based on the makeup of SLU's class, I would imagine the Bills are interested in him more as a potential 2015 recruit than a spring 2014 signee.

Welmer's Columbus North team is off to a 4-0 start. He has scored 25, 7, 17, and 12 (in order) in these four games.

Junior Josh Speidel scored 28, 14, 6, and 22 in those same games. He had 10 rebounds in the last one, an overtime win over Cathedral (Indy).

Does anyone know if SLU is recruiting junior guard Jimmy Whitt from Columbia Hickman? He put on a show Thursday at the Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout in St. Louis (27 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals) to lead Hickman over Cahokia. Apparently he is from St. Louis and moved to Columbia in the 1st grade.

I don't think so. A lot of people thought he was a lock for MIzzou until Ronnie Suggs gave them a verbal for 2015.

Wow!! Guess the family followed their coach and moved to Columbia when their son was only in the first grade!!

I'm pretty sure that you'll want O.G. Anunoby on this list as a player with high interest. 6'7 combo forward out of Jefferson City HS. He received a lot of attention at SLU's Elite Camp back in June.

What is the scoop on O.G. Anunoby? It would be nice to get a kid with that kind of bounce from the Eagles.

As always, updates on all names are appreciated.

2015 Offer List

Evan Boudreaux: Lake Forest, Lake Forest, IL - PF: 6-7, 220. Offers: SLU, DePaul, Northwestern, Iowa, Iowa State, Boston College, Bucknell. Interest: Butler, Georgetown, Creighton, Kansas, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Stanford, Virginia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Harvard. Latest (1/22): Boudreaux took an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech. Bucknell is his most recent offer. He has been playing extremely well, eclipsing 1000 career points and earning a recent tournament MVP award. Previous: Butler is reportedly watching Boudreaux very closely but has not yet offered. He has made unofficial visits to Purdue, BC, Michigan State, and Northwestern. He calls Northwestern intriguing, and respects what Collins is doing with the program; also likes the balance of athletics with top-flight academics and likes the idea of staying close to home. He is basically being tracked by the whole Big Ten. He plays for the Next Level Performance AAU team. Twitter: @EBoudreaux12

Chancellor Ellis: St. Andrew's, Barrington, RI - SG/SF: 6-5, 180. Offers: SLU, Iona. Interest: Many. Latest (9/18): Ellis told @GiveNGobball that he recently picked up a SLU offer. He's a well-built perimeter player from Queens, NY who transferred to St. Andrew's in RI after his freshman season at The Rectory School in Pomfrey, CT. Ellis had national attention coming into high school as a schoolboy legend from NYC, but seems to have been an early bloomer whose age group eventually caught up to him. Still, he's a high-level talent. His interest list is difficult to fill out for this reason; at various times since he's been 13, any school could be on there. Twitter: @NoChanceNoWay

Prentiss Nixon: Bolingbrook, Bolingbrook, IL - PG: 6-1, 170. Offers: SLU, SMU, Bradley, Drake, Northern Iowa, Colorado State, UIC, Northern Illinois, Wright State. Interest: Butler, St. John's, DePaul, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois State. Latest (1/22): Nixon has been playing excellent basketball. Butler was in to see him recently. Previous: Nixon has already visited SLU on multiple unofficial visits and said he had a great time, really great talking with coaches and players, including "hometown bro" Dwayne Evans. He has also gone to see UIC. He has received visits from St. John's (Jim Whitesell) and Iowa. He averaged 16 points as a sophomore at Bolingbrook, including 8 20-plus point games. He is considered one of the best shooters in Illinois and has a quick trigger. Many scouts see him as an undersized shooting guard, but Nixon is intent on proving he can run the show. He plays AAU ball with the Illinois Wolves. ESPN recently ranked him the 19th best PG in the class of 2015. Twitter: @AyeYooPrentiss_

2015 Interest List

Carlos Anderson: Alton, Alton, IL - SG/SF: 6-4, 215. Offers: SIUC, UIC, SIUE. Interest: SLU, Purdue, Missouri State, Indiana State, Bradley, Drake, Evansville, NIU, Wright State. Latest (10/23): Anderson was visited by UIC again on October 20; Indiana State visited open gym in September. So far, his interest level seems to be coming from the whole Valley and other regional schools. He has taken unofficial visits to Drake, Valpo, and others, and has attended camps at Purdue and Wright State. Anderson is billed as a power wing who gets to the basket and shoots well. Some consider him the top 2015 prospect in Southern Illinois. Twitter: @Carlos2Anderson

Ogugua (O.G.) Anunoby: Jefferson City, Jefferson City, MO - SF: 6-7, 200. Offers: Missouri State, SIUE. Interest: SLU, Mizzou, Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, UCLA, Miami, SIUC, Evansville, Central Michigan, Lehigh, Boston. Latest (1/22): SLU's interest in Anunoby is hard to gauge at this time, but he's a St. Louis Eagles kid with a 6-7 frame and high ceiling. It's safe to say Iowa has high interest, as Anunoby has visited Iowa City multiple times. Twitter: @OAnunoby

Ralph Bellamy: Clayton, Clayton, MO - SG/SF: 6-4, 205. Offers: None. Interest: SLU, Virginia Tech, Missouri State, SIUC, Indiana State, Illinois State, SEMO, Northern Colorado. Latest (10/8): Bellamy played well in the John Lucas Midwest Invitational Camp. Scouts said he showed he can play four positions in HS, and a dunk highlight video made the rounds. Previous: Bellamy is billed as a swingman with high-level athleticism. He plays for the St. Louis Gym Rats AAU team. Ben Weixlmann Tweeted that he's run into Bellamy at the gym numerous times, saying he's much improved since the summer, a big, athletic wing with a chance to make waves; talented prospect. Twitter: @HollaAtMeDotCom

Donovan Franklin: O'Fallon, O'Fallon, IL - SG/SF: 6-5, 175. Offers: None. Interest: SLU, DePaul, Purdue, Mizzou, SIUC, Indiana State, Missouri State, Evansville, Valpo, NIU. Latest (9/27): Franklin played very well for the St. Louis Eagles on the AAU circuit. He had some high scoring nights for O'Fallon as a sophomore and will be the primary scorer this season as a junior. Billiken Roy called him the best player on a mediocre team, and a kid with serious potential. Franklin is a smooth, versatile wing said to be athletic, with great court vision and a good motor on defense.

Cole Harper: Glenwood, Chatham, IL - SG: 6-5, 175. Offers: None. Interest: SLU, Bradley. Latest (10/23): Harper attended SLU's Elite Camp this past summer. Interest: SLU, Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa, Notre Dame, Boston College, Arkansas, Tennessee, Oregon State, Indiana State, Loyola-Chicago, IUPUI. Latest (10/23): Holba played at the SLU Elite Camp this past summer. He has taken unofficial visits to Providence, Boston College and others, and he also played in Purdue's and Tennessee's camps. He plays high school ball with 2014 SLU recruit Aaron Brennan after moving from Chesterton (IN) HS. Holba is a stretch forward who can really shoot from the perimeter, guard multiple positions, and throw down highlight reel dunks. Twitter: @Holbatron

Elijah Robertson: Neuqua Valley, Bolingbrook, IL - SF: 6-5, 181. Offers: None. Interest: SLU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State. Latest (10/23): Robertson attended SLU's Elite Camp this summer. He had a breakout performance at the Best Buy Classic in Minneapolis in 2012, where he showcased high-level athleticism and a non-stop motor. The performance got him invited to Michigan's camp and drew attention from more. His father played at Wisconsin in the 1980s.

Nick Rogers: Traders Point, Whitestown, IN - PG: 6-1, 170. Offers: Ole Miss, Nebraska, Indiana State, Illinois State, Loyola-Chicago, Kent State, Toledo, Valpo, UIC, UWM, NIU, IUPUI, Kennesaw State. Interest: SLU, Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Memphis, Tennessee, Mississippi State, South Florida, Central Florida, UAB, Old Dominion, Ohio, Wright State, Detroit, Ball State, Troy, IPFW. Latest (1/22): Rogers picked up an Indiana State offer. Previous: SLU visited Rogers, who already has a bunch of offers. He took an unofficial to SLU in October. Rogers has also taken unofficial visits to Purdue, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Memphis, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and others. He is scouted as a heady point guard with extraordinary awareness who distributes well and limits turnovers. His shot is considered inconsistent but he has high lift on it; he reportedly shot very well at the John Lucas Midwest Invitational Camp. He is very athletic and gets to the basket in traffic. He is missing three fingertips on his left hand from a lawnmower accident. Twitter: @iAm_nick10

Filip Serwatka: Concord, Elkhart, IN - SF: 6-5, 190. Offers: None. Interest: SLU, Purdue, Valpo, NIU, Ball State, IPFW, Eastern Kentucky. Butler and Xavier are his offers so far. He is taking an unofficial visit to Clemson at the end of September. He has also taken unofficial visits to Indiana, Purdue, Butler, Xavier, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, and played in Purdue's camp this summer. He is indeed the son of NBA legend Rik Smits. I think Bellamy is now playing for Clayton. He is an intriguing talent based on his length and athleticism. I wonder if he will play with a higher profile program this summer.

Welmer had a game-high 23 points for Columbus North Friday night in an upset loss to Bloomington North in the semifinals of the Class 4A Shelbyville sectional round here in Indiana. The Bull Dogs led 47-41 going into the fourth quarter but only scored two points as North Cougars came from behind for the win. Welmer, who scored 13 points in the first half against B-town North, averaged 15 points and eight rebounds a game as Columbus North was ranked among the top 10 in Class 4A for most of the season.

I was hoping to make the 40 minute drive from my house to Shelbyville Saturday night - as Columbus North would have been a possible opponent for a school I scout for in the regional round. Unfortunately they lost on Friday night too.

Didn't we sign him?
