kshoe
I'd take it in a heartbeat if true but just because it comes from ESPN does not mean its a lock. Cautiously optimistic...
Littlebill
There has been a lot of C7 news broken today. From a lot of credible guys. Makes you think an announcement is very close.
JettFlight5
They're meeting in Atlanta tomorrow. I figure all of this is the lead-in.
LouisvilleBilliken
Sounding more and more like SLU is in the new "Big East"
Cowboy
-I hope this is true -I would like to hear the timing rational, however -why are the BEast presidents and AD's meeting in Atlanta? trying to find warm weather?
SShoe
Sounding very very promising at the moment.
JettFlight5
I think cautiously optimistic is a solid term. Remember, we are Billiken fans, where Murphy's Law is seen as optimistic.

White Pelican
CBS says they may stop at 9:http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/21787349/catholic-7-looking-at-nine-schools-might-stop-there This, to me, seems the more likely scenario. It's tough being a Bills fan. And I hope something final IS announced soon.
bk18
"If unable to join the ACC in 2013-14, the Fighting Irish would consider spending one season in the Catholic 7 league before moving to the ACC in 2014, a source said." That is what might be discussed tomorrow. And might be the difference maker between a 9 team + ND, Rutgers, Louisville conference and a 12 team conference. grunky
the wording changed a bit on the ESPN article: "While Butler, Xavier and a team yet to be determined are expected to join the new Big East this fall, the Catholic 7 schools are also expected to add Creighton, Dayton and St. Louis in 2014 for a 13-team league." hmmmm? WVBilliken
I'd like to hear why the delay to go to 12. Makes no sense to me. Do some of the teams not want to leave right away? If so, why?

SLU7881
There's a $2 million fee to be paid to the A 10 if less than 1 year's notice is provided, so reported. Maybe SLU and others dont want to pay the $$, even with the better TV money it may be less than a wash.
