BLIKNS
Saw the headline from slubillikens.com, So does anyone know what Jake did to make the team? I think this is great for him.
West Pine Jim
I assume the training camp in Speculator, N.Y. is the last stop in civilization before plunging into the wooded wilds of Olean.

kwyjibo
Speculator is in a very pretty part of the Adirondacks in NY (near VT border) and nearly 300 miles to Olean (which is nearly a 4 day journey by mule).

bonwich
are there other modes of transportation available? Recent advances in welding have allowed the iron horse to make its way to Olean.
kwyjibo
Recent advances in welding have allowed the iron horse to make its way to Olean. In my attempt to make the distance understandable to the Bonnie faithful, I really botched the job. It is true a mule can go 10 mph but not for very long so the mule journey would likely be about 8 days. Apologies. Of course, Bonwich is right as upstate New York has had steam rail transport for a while. I suspect they could make it from Speculator to Olean in 8 hours travel time but you would have to add-in a minimum stopover in Albany of 4 hours. So, it would simply mean getting up real early and this time of year there is plenty of daylight.
White Pelican
Recent advances in welding have allowed the iron horse to make its way to Olean. But what about this so-called 'horseless carriage' that I've heard so much about??
West Pine Jim
But what about this so-called 'horseless carriage' that I've heard so much about??It means nothing to the Bonnie faithful who are partial to canoe traveling north to find rebounding help. billikenbill
http://www.wsucougar.../062012aaa.html Article where Jake is mentioned in game results from the Asian trip with the US Eagles. Sorry if this or similar info has already been posted. Looks like he was an important contributor. From the brief game summaries looks like he averaged about 10 and 6 or so. The Eagles went 5-1 including an "exhibition" game although seems like they were all exhibitions.
thetorch
Bobby Capobianco also on the team was recruited by us.
