Conk called me last night!

He was calling to drum up support for the upcoming season.

I asked him how he felt about playing the Prairie Faeries, but he wouldn't answer me. He also wouldn't say if he's 100 percent physically or how he felt about Porter leaving. I did hear him pause a bit when I asked him about Matt Dickey, but then he hung up.

(In any event, I thought it was cool that he called. As much as I rag on the marketing efforts, that was a nice touch.)

i had almost the exact same phone conversation with conk last night.

maybe he should take the time to answer the questions before thinking about the next call?

anyway it was nice he at least called. that said, the call was all about buying my season tix. couldnt they have culled out those of us that have already bought and paid for them instead of just calling everyone?

Anyone who went to the open practices should expect calls and emails like that all year. I'm working as an intern in the athletic department and I've been entering phone numbers and email addresses into the system throughout the year. They're definitely making a bigger push with marketing and fan relations this year.

A couple of us on the board want to buy floor seats to a few games...tell someone to call us back.

Conk left a message on my phone. Asking me to buy season tickets (done months ago), renew Billiken Club membership (done) and get a parking pass (will never do).

Appreciate the call, good effort, but why ask for stuff I've already done? Much rather get a thank you like the Blues give me. Maybe ask if I know of anyone interested in getting a ticket package who might sign up with a call from a player.

Improvement but a long ways to go in terms of marketing the program successfully.
