as a preferred walk-on....chose it over Valpo scholarship...had eliminated others prior. He knows he won't be a major contributor for a few years but he keeps raising his game and wants to play at a higher profile school.

Good luck to Jeff. A bright, couteous kid, who was left alone to make his own decision and that is what he wants.

I think he'll do fine there. He's a very respectful young man. His strong work ethic will pay off in the end.

This is gold for the Illini, on publicity and buzz alone. Obviously it is hugely doubtful he'll ever contribute directly on the court, but indirectly....yes.
