I just hope the team has fun today. Basketball should be fun, and they seem to be playing tighter and tighter every game. Just get back to basics - rebound, defend, and dunk.

I like the way this lines up if we get our mojo back. At the same time, it wouldn’t matter who we play if we don’t have our billiken swagger that we’ve seen sparsely this year and has been primarily lost since Covid shutdown last year. If this team finds its identity, I think we’re the best team in the league and we will run the table in DC. Without it, we’re battling with Richmond for the most frustrating team award.

I’m here too, but I also think he will do more. Ford + champions center should = recruiting dominance unlike we’ve ever seen.

Once soccer and champions center are finished, not one (kudos to the the AD for securing the private funds). Currently Dayton and VCU have comparable practice facilities, locker rooms, and arenas/stadiums.

Yup. I think we finally have the tools and buy-in from the university folks to let us break through. I am a hopeful person at heart, and that usually lets me down with my fandoms.

So that gives me hope that better days are ahead. We just seem to be teetering at getting over the hump. Im not writing off this year, as this team is better than the one that won 4 games in 4 days, but I really hope we at least make an NIT run so we can have some momentum going into a big offseason. This year has been frustrating, but, compared to my expectations after the first exhibition game, we’ve over achieved. 20 wins with this team would be a solid achievement and a deep NIT run would be fun.

If we actually show up, the NIT can be fun. It’s catapulted many teams into successful seasons. We gave no effort last year in the NIT and it cost us in terms of momentum this year.

I expected 19 wins when Perkins went down. We’re close to that. I am not too upset about this year. Also, the “Perkins is out crap” is ridiculous. No major scorer/transfer wanted to join a team to play second fiddle. If Perk was never going to be on the team, I would’ve expected someone like Alonzo Verge to be in a billiken uniform.
