If I were slu, I would try to add anyone that wants to come to Chaifetz. Anyone. If a prospective team mandates a road game for us, stay away. We are about to play two very important road games (probably the most important back to back) - we don't need it to be a three game away stretch.

Very fair. I mainly think there should be different protocols/rewarded for vaccination as the team seems to be. I’m no doc tho and sorry your son experienced that.

I believe slu is following the city’s guidelines… It’s BS and it seems like basketball, and athletics as a whole, have their hands tied by the SLU academic-side folks.

Yeah I wouldn’t think the AD is the person trying to dodge games but that’s just me… also, post reported “multiple” Covid positives within the program yesterday.

Wasn't williams out due to illness before the Auburn game? and then with Linssen possibly hurt or with a bad ankle, that's already two players down. Then there was the "at least one positive" in the SLU program (I would assume due to Omircron's contagion that there are more than one now), which leads to a minimum of 3 players unavailable and up to however many you want to count. I would imagine that they are following A10 protocol on this cancellation especially with all the other cancellations happening in the league. I wish the whole NCAA would do what the NHL did. Just postpone for a week, reset, get players boosted/healthy, then play ball with new guidelines for boosted/vaxxed/healthy 20 year olds.

I agree with ya. I also think with 3 of his seasons being impacted by a pandemic that slu hasn’t dealt with since 1918 has hampered some of his success. Maybe not, though.

Probably means for a program that has made 10 tournaments since 1950, more than 1 in every 7 years (hopefully).

I can't argue against you there, but I believe there are protocols in place to protect NCAA/Conference/University potential liability (if there even is any liability... who knows).

I agree completely. I don’t want a pause and not wishing for one. But given the new breakthrough cases with Omicron, I would say it’s potentially likely for many teams to have issues. I just think now is a better time for it than later - that is all.

Probably would rather have a covid pause / lost games now than later in the season. Seems like it's going to be inevitable for every program to get hit in some way, shape, or form.

The guys that were on the bench in the second half were the same that allowed a massive run for auburn in the first half. The logic of sitting our guys while up, and allowing a quick run from auburn, then putting our gassed players right back in, in a now much close game with a lot of time left…. isn’t air tight. Linssen doesn’t get banged up, and we definitely at least rotate him and Francis in and out. A gimpy Linssen would’ve been an absolute liability though.

Beating a dead horse… but we win this game (probably handedly) with Perkins.

Gibson passed up 2-3 good looks down the stretch. Really need him to have late game confidence.

Pregame - I just hoped we had a game deep in the second half (and I think many here had that same thought). That’s exactly what happened, but it sucks to lose this way. So positive in comparison to my pregame thoughts but just gut wrenching. Seeing the rest of the A10, and Bona’s decision to rush back Lofton (great way to create a nagging issue), we should roll a10.

I don’t have too many gripes with the subs. Guys were gassed but all the other players were absolutely lost in the first half. Deandre seemed to be a walking turnover against their guards. Killers were free throws and turnovers. Turnovers are on Travis but free throws just didn’t go our way today. Shoot like we usually do and we win.
