I agree with this, but I will also add that it helps when you aren’t coaching against HOF coaches every other game in conference play. The reaction to Ford’s inability to take teams deep was overkill, mainly because the tournament is a roll of the dice. Oklahoma State basketball is very similar to Nebraska football: fans are disillusioned by past success achieved by a legendary coach.

Joe Girardi will he hired sooner rather than later. I’m not sure I love it, but that is where this is heading. The team’s leadership made a disastrous decision to hire someone with zero managerial experience 6 years ago and ultimately cost the franchise another World Championship. The next wave of scrutiny needs to be pointed at the top.
