  1. Chris May last year decided to part ways with Lisa Stone, saying he believes the women's basketball program should compete regularly in the NCAA tournament. If that's the same standard May has for the men's basketball program, then Ford has to go. It's as simple as that.
  2. I'm not sure SLU is totally to blame here. As @A10Ref pointed out, there may not be a whole of incentive for our big donors to throw money at NIL. Other than hoping it helps their team win, what's the return on investment for them? And local companies don't seem to be jumping at NIL opportunity, whether it's SLU, Mizzou or elsewhere.
  3. Perkins, Pickett, Jimerson and Okoro (Plus Fred Thatch off the bench as your sixth man) is still formidable with a decent PG. Let's rally around them and bring home an A10 title. See ya Yuri!
  4. I'm not going to fault her for never making an NCAA Tournament. The program had 3 winning seasons in the 25 seasons prior to her taking on the job. Given that track record, the success she had is pretty remarkable. That said, I understand the university wanting to move on, especially given the lofty goals Chris May laid out for the program in his quote in the press release.
  5. What's terrible about this team doesn't have anyone with that killer edge that helps close out games with a "take no prisoners" mentality. There's no Brian Conklin, Jordair Jett or Javon Bess. Those guys kept the guys composed on the court in games like these.
  6. Another game in which they've blown a double-digit lead. They have to nearing the record for most double-digit leads blown by a SLU team in a single-season.
  7. I'm just now catching up on all the posts in this thread today so far and all I can say is that this message board never disappoints to entertain me. Y'all are something. Stay you.
  8. What other station would make sense? Like willie mentioned, Mizzou is already on 55 and 101 ESPN meant SLU playing second fiddle. There's 590 KFNS, but that station is in ownership limbo, so not sure it would make sense for SLU to go there.
  9. Did the AD say something that I missed?
  10. This thread is going just as I thought it would. Y'all are really something. While I'm as sick of this pandemic as anyone, I'll gladly show my vaccine card and wear a mask for the privilege of watching my beloved Billikens in-person. Yes, the policies are probably a bit of theater, but at the end of the day, I'm fine with complying and hope the measures do add some provided safety for everyone. But that's just me.
  11. The poor attendance doesn't shock me all that much. I think staging an entire season without ticket sales, like college basketball teams did last year, is having an impact. It's put distance between the program and the casual St. Louis sports fan. Heck, even the Cardinals weren't immune to that dynamic. They struggled to draw their average attendance after opening back up to fall capacity earlier this year.
  12. There sure are a lot of self-appointed journalism experts on here. You fellas ever work in a newsroom? Just curious where this expertise is coming from.
  13. Yes, Jonathan Burch (or JB, as he is known) is not a doctor. I'm not sure who the official team doctor is, but I know Dr. Scott Karr (https://physicians.slucare.edu/details/306/scott-kaar-orthopaedic_surgery-sports_medicine-lake_st_louis-st_louis) is one of the doctors that works with the team. He often sits court side at home games. I don't know if Dr. Karr travels with the team.
  14. Yes, he just had the assist on Jacobs' 3-pointer
  15. Is that now 1,000 career points for Goodwin?
  16. Roby makes my list as well. His perseverance, leadership and commitment to the program were a bright spot in an otherwise dark time for SLU basketball. My other favorites of the decade are Conklins, Jett, Bess and Goodwin.
  17. I’ll be in 121 with bourban street and a few other recent alums (Including one former very esteemed SLU student athlete). We’ll bring the hype!
  18. But it is mind-boggling that the coach was one of the best free throw shooters in college basketball history and yet his team is one of the worst FT shooting teams in the nation.
  19. Thoughts? Ford skipped the post game radio interview and apparently was quick with the media in his press conference. I personally could care less, but this "LeBron Gaines" dude is making a big deal of it on his Twitter acount
  20. Foreman, Bess and Isabell all have more TOs tonight than Goodwin, who has 11 rebounds and four steals.
  21. He actually only had three turnovers (which of course is three too many). But four of our five starters had at least three turnovers today. Goodwin's shooting, 3 of 15, was the real issue today. But then again, Gordon and Thatch were the only two that shot well at all today. Bess was 6 of 18. Isabell was 1 of 5 and French missed all five of his shots. I'm a Goodwin lemming, so I'm inclined to defend him.
  22. In his recent interview on Frank's radio show, Ford said his son is going to Mizzou.
