No he’s engaged and makes his presence known.

Parker took good open shots. But they weren’t smart shots. An open shot in the front half of the shot clock isn’t smart when there aren’t any rebounders there. That was my take away from his shot selection. Hopefully he learns this. Also I think his defense was better than expected. I too think TJ should have played a little more. Would of liked to see him when they were pressing.

I have a single available for tonight. Only ask that you use the ticket if you take it. Front row at the end of the bench if you like that kind of thing.

The real question is can he slam it jumping over a trash can? If so I’m all in!

Gibby and a healthy Perk are going to compliment each other so well. With Yuri passing I predict one of them or both will go for 40 this year.

The wife and I usually go to one out of town game. But there aren’t really any within driving distance so we probably won’t go this year.

And that’s not hard to do with big athletic guards. Yuri has to have a scorer to take the pressure off him.

We have. Doesn’t have to be one for one. Maybe two for one. But it’s hard to gripe about power 5 teams not giving us a home and home and then do the same.

I wish we played SIUE home and home. It was a lot of fun going there and watching a game. Small gym great atmosphere. No idea why we don’t do this.

Also Doe Run is going to have to do an environmental clean up on this land. That’s going to be very expensive. One way to do the cleanup is to put a concrete cap of a certain thickness in it. So for Doe Run it would be cheaper to turn it into a usable/leasable space then it would to do the cleanup they are responsible for. The other thing is rail to have a port you need to be able to turn a string of rail cars around while connected. I think that number is in the 100-125 car range. It’s one of the only properties that has the space to do this in the area.

So how was the salsa?

I’ve thought about a tournament like this to open the season. Only no UMKC or Lindenwood. But add ILL. And SIUC and maybe SIUE. This tournament would be a money maker and sell out. The teams would have cheap travel and lots of revenue. It’s a shame they won’t do something like this.

I think Yuri’s minutes might be cut back a bit. With this team there should be a lot of blow outs. So he might get to rest a bit more. JP will have to work up to his minutes. He won’t start off carting a heavy load. Like mentioned above FO fouls a lot. He’ll probably limit himself. I think Gibby’s minutes could be cut a bit and that it would benefit him. That dude worked hard every play last year to get open. He’s non stop moving. SP will be wait and see. It took JP a while to come around. So we’ll have to see how he adapts. TH who knows. I could see him getting more or lost on the bench. I like watching him play. But his ball handling skills are rough. He’s also streaky so that could dictate how much he’s playing. Hopefully he has a big growth in his game this year and forces coach to play him. He can bring a lot of excitement. I doubt the three freshman see much playing time. Tough roster to crack especially if you’re a wing or shooting guard. I would like to see one or two of the freshman redshirt this year. Doubt that will happen but I think it could benefit them. I think Thatch and Pinson will split time. Whoever is playing the best or matches up better will get more minutes. I hope being this deep we will press a lot more. FT,JP,and TH would be fun to watch as a front 3 on the press here and there when Yuri needs a break.

I remember when Fred guarded Obi a lot in a game. He actually took it to him pretty good. It was fun to watch. He really frustrated Obi.

I’m not as worried about things like this as some of you. Look at the number of high recruits that don’t work out. Now add the pressure of the money. Some of these young athletes will fail under this pressure. Can you imagine how easy it will be to loose a locker room when the kids that aren’t being paid as much perform better? Some of these teams will implode. I think it will take a couple years to level out. But I don’t think it will be the end of good college hoops.

He’s very good no doubt. But not the best. Maybe one of the best 6’-1” and below. Big guards really made him struggle last year. I have no issues with him making the choice to leave. Does it suck? Yes. But if he’s really getting that kind of money 95% of us would have done it.

So if Yuri to TN was such a sure thing why hasn’t he signed yet? Just curious. If I had that kind of money in the line(assuming that’s correct). I’d want to get it locked up as soon as possible.
