  1. Our attack is going to change dramatically this year. With the exodus of French and the advent of Linssen/Okoro, our 5 is going to set up and live far from the basket. Unclog the lane. Slashers’ delight. and, to my chagrin, the press is not going to be a “go to” defense. TF believes our half court defense will be stellar. All this as per TF.
  2. TF does not talk starters. He talks minutes. As per a couple of days ago there are three guys he wants to get to 30 minutes. Javonte, Yuri, and Nesbitt. Everything else is wide open. Don’t be surprised if Linssen gets more minutes than Okoro. Finding time for so many good players is a real dilemma for the staff.
  3. Nowhere close to CAG. TF has always stated his most intense, “win at all cost” players ever were Smart and Goodwin. He very recently stated Nesbitt appears ready to make this elite list a trifecta, albeit a bit too early to be 100% certain. Has all the earmarks. And, as a side note to those who care, I would be shocked if SLU is not in the Big East by the end of next week…
  4. I can’t disagree with the above. I do not like Brooks at the other center back spot; but who starts in his spot is totally up for debate. The Mexico game is going to be a dogfight!!
  5. Ream definitely better on Friday than Brooks was last night. Yedlin and Dest should not be starting. Yedlin is terrible ( I spent the last couple of seasons watching him get smoked on every opposing team’s highlight reel when they played Newcastle - yes, he’s now in Turkey…). And Dest is completely off form. Cannon, Vines, Robinson, Bello…I would take any of them over Y and D. And McKinnie…Juventus is trying to get rid of him for basically the same reasons GB benched him. All about himself and influencing…the heck with the team….
  6. I agree with everything GBG states above, with two exceptions: 1) Ream always scares the heck out me when he suits up for the USMNT. This was not the case last night. He was as solid as I’ve ever seen him back there. The expected faux pas never occurred.. 2) NO one, and I mean NO one, has a worse first touch than Zardes…
  7. If I’m an opposing coach, and I know I’m going to have Becher, Parker and #23 (I don’t know where this kid came from, but he is smooth) coming at me, with Klein playing the #10 position to the best of his abilities, I’m not getting much sleep the night before the game….
  8. And kudos to whoever came up with the idea to play the “Maradona” tune during warmups. Going to make for some fantastic Tiktok and Reel clips for certain. Live is life!!
  9. Becher is the Lukaku lite style #9 SLU has not enjoyed for a long time (Kristo.). Glad he’s a Bill. And I really like the wing Parker!
  10. Foden and Mount are both players any manager would be happy to have on their squad. That said, I take a healthy Harvey Barnes over either of them. His combination of pace, skill and timing boosted LCFC to second place in the Premier….his brutal injury led to the Foxes crashing out of Champion’s League contention. Hopefully he is back at full strength next season…he is a joy to watch every time he gets the ball….definitely will be on the England team when healthy.
  11. When you have as many clear chances as the Bills did, and you don’t score, karma always gets you...just an unwritten soccer inevitably. Next year!!
  12. Totally. Everyone is just kicking the ball. She would control and go. It’s like we are in panic mode without really needing to be there....
  13. Yeah, soccer is not big on half time entertainment...usually a bunch of kids playing 4 v 4 or something...
  14. That would be a good bet. Bills giving as good as they are getting, and man, does Halverson have some serious pace or what? Need to take more advantage of that - she blew by at least three Huskies on her one run. Do it again and again...
  15. Dang, I heard from a very legit Larson blew out her knee in practice Tuesday. Was hoping this was hyperbole....
  16. Very informative analysis of the SLU women’s situation. When convenient it would be great if you put something like this together for the Men’s side as well! Obrigado!
  17. I like the way Shields give Larson the freedom to roam. One moment attacking down the left, next attack on the right, down the middle, etc. There is nothing a defender hates more than an unmarked ultra-skilled player roaming free...and the Billikens have too many good players......the opposition can't afford to mark Larson.
  18. I don’t know why any of you guys are engaging this Taj fellow. He gets his jollies dogging soccer. Good for him....he’s a hater....just ignore him. He knows nothing about the game as was made obvious by his “Bills had no chances” statement of Thursday.
  19. Agreed. Becher has the tools...he was simply off today. He had two clear chances in first half. Keeper made a great reaction save on one, and Becher totally blew the second. Finishing was not good....
  20. All true, but D*&% that was a brutally clear penalty!!! And the save on Klein in the first half was sublime.
  21. They absolutely need to with the A10 tournament to make the dance. Good news: they are the best team in the A10. if Vegas gave odds, and the oddsmaker understood soccer, Bills would be favored over the other three teams, including Dayton. Bad news: it seems like every time Bills make the A10 tournament, they total outplay their opponent.....and find a dramatic way to lose. Heart wrenching....
  22. No doubt. Most effective Billiken in the air since Bake...;)
  23. Valid point on the 1-5 switch. When Daly lit us up for 30+ a couple of years ago, Has was the ONLY Bill who enjoyed any success slowing him down. He scorched every other guy we had on the court...
  24. Bizarre for certain... hate to see her leave. Who steps into the “shooter” role next year? Hope Clark is spending a couple of hours a day fine-tuning her three point stroke....
