I want Hunter. His FT % is great. Therefore, I bet he can shoot. Just needs to take more high percentage shots. Thats where Schertz's system comes into play. I bet he would do well here.

Hunter didn't play last season.  Broke his foot in October.  He was in the portal last season (before his injury) committed to Butler and then reneged and stayed at Central Ark.

Frank said on his show that Casey’s commitment is supposed to come today. He mentioned him and Avila playing at the same time with Casey being the 5 and Robbie playing the 4. Not sure if that was his assumption or what Schertz told him. With the way Schertz’s offense doesn’t use traditional positions, it doesn’t really sound like something Schertz would say.

In an early interview with Bernie, Coach said he can adapt his style to the player on the roster. He mentioned a starter at LMU, Emanual Terry who had a cup of coffee in the NBA, but he couldn't shoot or pass, but was a runner and a great rim protector and defender.

Welcome Josiah! Best NE player his recruiting class on a very good HS team. I follow Creighton closely (med alum). His family is very involved in serving the Omaha community and brother played there. Surprised he transferred given his ties, but I think he saw playing time limited. They have the best BEast recruiting class/one of the best in the country and will be active in the transfer portal. I think he will fit in just fine here!

OT. Spent some time in Omaha earlier this month. That’s a very nice city. The zoo is top notch but very expensive. The soccer stadium, Schwab Field and CHI Health Arena are impressive. Walking across the MO River on the pedestrian bridge was a must do.

If he was good enough for the Beast he’s good enough for the A10.

I don’t know anything about Dotzler but I did look at his stats. He only got 77 minutes total last year, 28 min against Big East opponents. That’s not much exposure. He made 3 of 11 three pointers. He had 3 assists total. Let’s see what he does next season.

I wonder if that is for football and basketball or did it say it was just for their basketball program?  Also, was it a yearly donation of $25m or a one time donation that will have to be spread over several years.

5 years, $5 million total per year, for football, men's and women's basketball plus selected other women's sports.

This is small time thinking.  TheOne was on here saying 3-4 Indiana State starters plus Jimerson.  We only landed 2 Indiana State guys, so I take that as meaning we'd still have potential NIL funds for the right starting caliber players that the big fish are on board with.

Today's announcement of Dotzler kind of goes with the flow of what I am saying.  He won't break the bank.  Sure there is BVF left but the % already spent on the big three is unknown, except to a very small number of people.

NIL has expanded to several facets.  You have the Pay for Play pot (pretty much BVF), the Billiken Exchange where you can pretty much do what you want (and which can have a NIL piece in it) and then somewhat associated with that, individual NIL deals such as Jimerson's clothing deal last season and  Avila's Chicago White Sox deal, plus the expected googles deal he is reportedly working on.

This has been an expensive year for Billiken Sports.  You have the Ford and staff buyouts, the salary for Schertz plus his expanded staff, and then the BVF.  Individual sponsors going heavy into the Exchange or other avenues are certainly there also.

  7. No one on this forum knows the real numbers but our NIL pot has taken a hit with Jimerson, Avila and Swope signings.  How many big ticket players can we afford?  With the names of two potential recruits floating around this board, it appears we are working on the edges of the pot.

Players not high in their previous school's rotations, or not in the rotation at all, won't command six figure NIL packages.

Who has Loyola and GW brought in that’s impressing everyone?

I looked at Verbal Commits Transfers for the following; I don't know anything about the metric used to valuate each player.  If you are curious about the metric, contact SBUnfurled.

GW: Castro, 6'11" F Providence, Hansen 6'9" C Cornell, and Moss 6'3" PG William & Mary

Loyola: DeLoach 6'9" F Georgia (2 yrs at VCU), Moore 6'3" PG Drexel, and Nwaokorie 6'7" F UC San Diego.

You would need to get their stats from previous schools.  The only one I am familiar with without looking anything up is DeLoach.  First, he was on Schertz recruit list, and second he was pretty good at VCU.  At Georgia he was a bench player.

HCJS will be on The Press Box @ 11:05 CT

Swope played on one leg the second half of season.  Was averaging 20 ppg before he got hurt.

Pikaar has great range and passing ability.  Not strong enough yet to guard an A10 post player.  Good rim protector.

McCo - combo guard.  Needs to work on his defense and his motor.  Has NBA potential.

Jimerson, Avila and Swope all left $$ on the table by coming to SLU.  Working hand in hand with Chris May on NIL issues.

2 recruits on campus today, 1 more tomorrow, and 2 more Thurs through Sat.  Both transfers and HS in these groups.

We will have to have Old Guy weigh in on this to see what his recovery will be like.

I had it done a decade ago.  Mine was a complete meniscus tear.  I walked out same day of surgery and rehabbed for about a month before I was running again.

Swope and Jimmer with Larry and Thames behind them is a winning collection of scoring 2/3 guards that should do well in the A10.   Avila and I guess Pikaar at the 4/5 with depth needing to come.

But where is the PG...this car needs a driver.   I wish Medley would have hung around. I know the thinking is now we can do better, hopefully that is true.

Either way this is a big get and Coach is off to a nice start.

There are still 6 open scholarships.  But yes, still need rebounding, rim protection and someone to organize the offense.

Forget the 1-2-3-4-5 designations.  With 5 out you play ball.

Nice! He can fill it up - during one of the NIT broadcasts, they mentioned he was going to get some work done on his knee in the offseason. Hopefully it is minor and he has a quick, full recovery.

Torn meniscus in left knee. Outpatient surgery most likely.
