  1. Agreed. Rebounding is our shortest part last year and we lost CR. It will be fun to see if we could recruit a rebounding monster with big size.
  2. I think he still needs to prove himself.
  3. I agreed with the idea some people have said here. Hire a young who are seeking a long-term job and wants to put himself all in. It could be assistant coach of Smart or Stevens.
  4. I don't think what he said are idiotic. He made some good points.
  5. Not a good idea. The salary is a big issue here.
  6. Like some guys said before, we are the only D1 basketball team in this town and no NBA team here. We need to aim higher.
  7. Good point. Let's see what he can do in K-State.
  8. A reasonable expectation should be sweet 16. Don't forget some people even predict us to be a final four.
  9. We certainly will. "one of those nights" always seems an excuse to me.
  10. Listen to what Cody said. http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/371177/3/Ducks-end-Billikens-season-74-57
  11. Same story, Indiana let him shoot and failed to stop him at the beginning of the game, then he became hot and hard to stop. But look, Indiana held on and we were blew out. Although Indiana shot better than us, more importantly, they adjusted their defense and limited Wyatt to 3 out of 12 from the arc, this makes difference.
  12. I expected someone will bring up this question. First, I did not deny our ability to get the shot off. What I said is our defensive plan is to allow them shooting outside. It does not necessarily mean they will shoot a lot although we let them do that. Also, I meant we did not adjust immediately after they started shooting well. There was no timeout call when we were trailed by 7 points after ten minutes play. When Dotson started feeling it and became very hot, we began to put pressure on him, it is too late. We failed to stop him at the beginning and of course it is hard to stop him later, because he is hot already.
  13. It is true. I am not happy we did not adjust immediately. I believed their high three point percentage is not because they were hot, it is because our defense make them hot.
  14. Most of the three point shots made in the first half are not NBA++ range and they were not contested. You can watch the replay if you do not agree. I bet our defensive game plan is let them shoot the three and prevent them get close to the rim, so you can tell from the game that we shrank our defense a little bit. It is reasonable because they are not considered as a good outside shooting team, but we just failed to adjust our defense in the first half. "It was one of those things... I know a guy, never hit a home run his whole life, hit TWO home runs in one game. Then never hit another one the rest of his life. True story" does not apply to here, because they were hot in the Oklahoma States game too. Therefore, both our and Oklahoma State defensive plans were not effective at the beginning and failed to adjust right away. Another similarity is both DE and Smart struggled, it tells their defensive plans work well.
  15. True, but the problem here is not many great coaches are like our beloved Coach Majerus (that's probably why make him so special). I just do not give a damn to the coaches like John Calipari. Butler is a good model we can learn from. BillikenLaw's plan is a great one but not very realistic for SLU.
  16. Thanks, dlarry. I agreed with AMDG that we just let them shoot open threes, I think that is our defensive plan because they are not considered as a good shooting team. We just could not blame our players. Poor shooting is not their fault, I bet they want to make those buckets more than anybody else. If they had poor shot selection, we should blame them, but I did not see many. They are all great players and they have been executing well thru this whole year. No big deal as long as we all hope Bilikens to be good in the future.
  17. Is coach responsible for everything? Sure not. We had a shooting nightmare. I think we failed to adjust in both ends in the first half when we started losing big. His recruiting and talent development are questionable. I think he is a perfect assistant coach.
  18. Please tell me what is our game plan? To compete who made more threes? C'mon, the tournament is just all about defense and matchup.
  19. Is there any MJ type of player in Oregon team? They are not a good outside shooting team (there are stats supporting this). But why they were on fire?
  20. Does not sound good, but simply true.
  21. But why they shot 8/11 threes? Is it just because they were hot last night? I hate his avatar thing, that is a joke, but anything else else he said does make sense.
  22. I support coach change too. I also agreed with our defense plan was not effective but theirs was. But when you are trailed by 16 points after first half, to a team like ours, we have to play something that we are not familiar with and not comfortable with, which is to play faster and shoot threes, otherwise we will not even get a chance to catch up. We lost 5 out of 5 this year (not including yesterday's loss) when we are trailed by more than 5 points in a first half, because our game is to play in slow pace and get buckets one by one, so it is hard for us to catch up if we lost too much in a first half. We are not a very explosive team. I have no problem with they shoot threes, but our defense was not as good as it supposes to be in a first 15 minutes. I know some people are not happy about it when I say we had a poor defense plan last night, but we did. Just look at their shooting percentage from the arc, is it not a significant evidence to say we had a poor defense plan in a first half?
