Again, just personal opinion but to me a basketball-centric school with a foundation of 2 decades of success would be more appealing to me than a middle-of-the-road P5 school. Especially If that school was in my backyard. But money talks and it would definitely be a gamble. Assuming Sprinkle has lot of success at U Dub then the next step would be a top P5 job which is clearly a better landing spot than Gonzaga.

Definitely agree P5 has more resources than Gonzaga. Long term though, I fully expect the Zags to be playing in a P5 conference. UW is definitely a great job but I get the impression it’s more of a football school. Parlaying that UW job into a better P5 job > Gonzaga job.

Wow. What a journey for Danny Sprinkle the last 5 years: head coach at his Alma mater Montana State, then off to Utah State where he has the Aggies at 25-5 and ranked in the top 25 in his first year where expectations were definitely not high, now possibly back to his home state of Washington for a P6-1=5 job? Spokane just 75 miles from his hometown. Curious to see how he does at Washington because If I were Danny, that Zags job would be at the top of my list once Few retires.

Big assumption on my part but I would assume if we hired Mack at an annual well above Ford's, it wouldn't impact NIL funds. Meaning, we have the money to pay Mack and sufficiently fund NIL still. Not sure which whales will be subsidizing the coach's salary and funding NIL but one concern I could potentially see is Mack bringing in some bigtime recruits (i.e. 4 star recruits) given his track record but BVF not having the funds to pay them. However, I'm not sure a guy like Mack signs on the dotted line unless he is given assurances that BVF will be well stocked.

Mack remains my top choice for much of the reasons stated above. Will he cost a ton? Yeah, but it's not my money so what do I care? The issue isn't that Ford is getting paid $2.5M it is that he is getting paid $2.5M to produce unacceptable results. I'd also be thrilled with Schertz or McCollum. I was going to wait until my youngest kids were a bit older to purchase season tix but if one of these three is hired, I'm moving that up to the 24-25 season.

If Ford is officially canned on Tuesday, penny pitchers on me at Humph's Wednesday night. As part owner of Humphrey's those pennies will be my retirement gift to Travis.
