  1. Looks like the difference between donating $250 and donating $500 is a car decal. I'd assume these perk lists aren't complete yet (I sure hope not). I would also assume the bigger donors don't care really about car decals etc but if you're going to ask the average Jose to cough up some money then perks matter. Of course the $500 level could come with more invitations to watch parties and events than the $250 level.
  2. Kentucky friend told me he woke up yesterday thinking UK would hit a home run and they ended up bunting.
  3. 28% from 3 and 72% at the stripe. Although Schertz's style of play seems to enhance 3-point shooting percentages. Offensively, Conwell and Jimerson > Derkack. Hopefully we're able to retain Jimerson and/or convince Conwell that P5 schools are for the birds. We know what type of defender Jimerson is; not sure about Conwell. Rebounds and steals/game are pretty impressive for Derkack. I think I'm turning into Old Guy with my posts.
  4. My guess is many are still suffering from Travisforditis. The only known cure for that is winning.
  5. 14 pts for Jordan tonight in a victory over the Pistons. 6 boards and 6 assists as well. How about some pics from the game, @DirtyRican!
  6. What the hell did I just watch!? Tonight was not a good night to decide on a stronger dose of gummy.
  7. I have no intention of posting on their board or rubbing it in their faces once Schertz is named SLU coach because that's grade school behavior but also because Scherz is going to drop us in the near future for a bigger paycheck at P5. Which is fine because the difference between ISU and SLU (as you pointed out) is that this season was pretty much ISU's ceiling. They will likely always be stuck in the MVC riding buses to games with the occasional good season. For SLU, we'll be fine once Schertz moves on. We'll still have the resources and the support to become a Xavier/Marquette with another great hire. 10 years ago this past month we were a 5 seed after another season of top 15 hoops. Which is why comments like "ISU and SLU are the exact same MMs" bother me when it really shouldn't because anyone with even the slightest bit of brain activity knows it isn't true. That second coffee has me amped. I do really feel bad for their fans and hope their next coach can keep them competitive.
  8. Sycamore board has gotten ugly today but favorite post thus far is from a guy that, first, called us delusional and then said" I hope SLU finishes 28-5 next year with a 26 NET and misses the tournament". He then goes on to make the claim that ISU and SLU are equal MM's. Someone might want to let this guy know he just described Dayton, who earned an at-large bid as a 7 seed. In fact, Dayton had MORE losses and LESS wins than ISU. If SLU finishes the A10 next year with a 28-5 record and 26 NET, they're in the tournament regardless of bid stealers. That's the difference between the MVC and the A10.
  9. Did you guys see Musselman took the USC job? When's the last time any of you actually rode a carousel? Just good, clean fun!
  10. Yep. Frank's brother hired Mrs. Ahearn to run FOH and everything just went downhill.
  11. Last time I checked their board a lot of their posters were telling themselves that not only was Schertz staying but that all 5 starters were too, and that they'd give ISU a "home team discount" to stay
  12. Mike Knoll's son was in my grade at CBC. Great guy (still is) and great basketball player. In fact, our varsity squad my junior and senior years were really good. Knoll, Jeremy Jones, Larry Jones, Tamar Maclin (played at MO St.), and Ryan Woods (Played football at Michigan State). Didn't have any issues getting past Pistol and TheChosenOne's David Lee-led Chaminade squad but Jimmy McKinney's Vashon squad was a different story. Bill Harris did everything he could to get D Lee to join our stacked squad at CBC but he decided to go to Chaminade instead. What a shame, he could've ended up having a great pro career....
  13. UCONN currently on a 28-0 run. No one is stopping them this tournament. EDIT: my streaming service is slower than Hoosier’s
  14. Murkens is clearly an act. Richmond Heights VFW bar is the best. Used to dominate that scene in my late 20s. Everyone should add a Jack and Coke/photohunt/secondhand smoke at RH VFW to their bucket list.
  15. Incognito is great. So is his book Sum. I’d also encourage everyone to listen to Eagleman‘s segment on the podcast Radiolab. Very fascinating stuff. @Old guy let’s get together and discuss some Eagleman over some uninspiring cups of coffee and a few chicken fried steaks at Cracker Barrel.
  16. Sometimes I wonder if Old Guy is Putin.
  17. Yeah he's not staying at ISU. You take the job with the 700% pay increase (or 250% if they truly do have the funds to bump it up to $800K) and don't look back. Either that part of Rick's tweet was to keep their fanbase happy during their NIT run as you said, or it was given to Rick by the Schertz team as a way to save face with their fanbase once he bolts for SLU ("It was a really tough decision (it wasn't) but ultimately we felt a move to SLU was best for our family"). If Schertz were to stay, I'm not even sure they'd be able to afford to bring back their starting five. $300K isn't going to cut it.
  18. Uh oh, did you get Simon Charles'd? Simon's X bio: Esteemed sports journalist & Patriots Beat Writer Double PHD in Journalism & Female Anatomy
