I got a direct email regarding the event asking for RSVP. Perhaps there was a minimum donation necessary.
It was my first time donating. I donated the day Schertz was hired.
So they got back to me.
It seems like they only sent to previous donors

I agree completely with this. I truly don't want a lot of attention towards the high school players. We coach them up and then they transfer up to a P5 team.
Look at Schertz players from last year at Indiana State. True we were compliant in attempting to pirate those players but the first 2 even skipped over us and transferred to Texas for a apparent big pay raise
I hate what the Division one scene has become, but it isn't going back. If we get a high school kid we better really want him and be willing to pay big.
Considering high school recruiting at the Billiken level has always been about finding potential and hoping for developing that potential. Now we're going to be developing it so they can go somewhere else when they finally reach the production level? No thank you
Why are you comparing us to Indiana State? We were paying our coach more than they spent on their entire basketball program. We are not the same.
Our soon to be all-time leading scorer is going to start his SIXTH year in a row at SLU. He isn't playing for free. We kept the nation's leader in assists on our roster for four years - he wasn't playing for free either.
We won't keep everyone, but no one is keeping everyone. College sports are different now, but we're a lot higher on the totem pole (and spend like it) than some people are making it seem

It's crazy seeing all the big sports media outlets post about Robbie transfering and asking where is he gonna transfer to. Comments are full of people saying he's going p5 and fans wanting him to come to their school. I'm over here telling everyone he's coming to SLU. I thought since he had that no contact note it was pretty much done. But maybe he just didn't want to be bombarded by everyone. Pretty wild stuff.
We instantly get a solid national following if he comes here.
I don’t know how the TikTok algorithm works, but Avila’s last post was on my for you page last night and almost all of the comments (none actually from RA) are saying he’s going to SLU

-does a player have to go through the portal to transfer? for instance could the Ind St guys just end up at SLU?
If Tucker Devries entered the portal, I think that means you have to

Hey, I was Team Leon back then too, buddy. Both Leon Rice and my old neighbor, Leon.
Rice would've been a pretty nice hire.
I saw Leon from the Budweiser commercials once at an AB event before game 4 of the 2004 World Series

I believe they're hiring Dru Smith who played on Lebron's high school team.
It's Dru Joyce. Dru Smith played for Mizzou. Joyce was Lebron's PG at St Vincent St Mary's and played for Dambrot at Akron. He's been an assistant at Duquesne since 2022

@HoosierPal: My bigs are van Bussel and Zhang. Following in the footsteps of DJ Foreman, Rashed Anthony, Jimmy Bell Jr., Madani Diarra, Andre Lorentsson, Lassina Traore, and Mouhamadou Cisse. Who are these unnamed bigs you mention? Big #1 looks like Ezewiro. Not hard to improve when your played in a limited role with that kind of talent at LSU and Georgetown. Big #2 appears to be Okoro. A guy who was never really a part of Oregon's guard-laden offense. Two aberrations in a historical string that stretches over 5+ years with multiple candidates for failure.
The last big that might have progressed positively here was Ian Vouyoukous. Maybe Rob Loe as well. Brian Conklin was NOT a big.
Lorentsson as a big and Conklin not is.... interesting

Well I heard it's 2 mil from us. Sure our whales want to try to pay less than what they were paying Ford so that 500k can go to NIL funds. But I bet we would raise the price though if needed. Maybe.
Just saying all 260 people in Terre Haute are going to do everything they can to keep him. And their insiders seem to think the mou is a lie. I should probably stop reading that ish though and just log off for a few days. Haha
I've seen 2.3 but regardless. So if that's all correct, Schertz gets a 6x raise and they'll still have 500k less (their number *increased* to $300k per Stu, but does FBJS's raise eat into that amount?) in NIL for these players than we do. At a minimum. I've seen us as low as $750k and as much as 1.1-1.2 as CurryHicksSage said on spaces last night. So JS gets a rise and the players get 10% as much as they should? Hmm
Its the same stuff that was happening when Yuri went to the portal. The personal stuff doesn't pay the bills. We had to come up with the money to compete and keep him. ISU has come up with some, but I can't imagine being the "highest paid coach in the valley" is on FBJS's list of goals. He's taken hem as high as they can go. I'll never give a sh-- about the NIT, but ISU does bc they've been to three tournaments in 45 years.
Poverty program who fired the AD that found them an elite coach

Well, I’ll tell you what, if it’s that stressful on you, then might I suggest following McKendree, MoBap, or WashU ?
Can we not include the Catz with the two d3 schools? They're in the GLVC and lost in the Sweet 16 last year. Thanks in advance.
PS - George Suggs will be coaching in d1 eventually. Been good at McK for a couple years now and is only 30 or so
