  1. ?? They're competition even if we don't play them. I personally believe they were a big reason we are not currently in the Big East.
  2. I agree with you, I just don't understand why there aren't more kids at SLU where SLU is their favorite team before they got on campus. I dated a girl that went the SLU from Milwaukee and she would constantly tell me that if SLU played Marquette she would cheer for Marquette.
  3. Why? I want the A10 to be good, but not as good as SLU.
  4. The lack of fan support for SLU is baffling and I think about it often. I have no clue how to fix it or why it is the way it is, but the first step towards attracting more students would seem to be better marketing. I'm also not sure that this is a problem exclusive to SLU, but seeing similar schools with significantly more fan support can be disheartening. Growing up in Milwaukee, I was constantly bombarded by Marquette basketball. I always hated having that jammed down my throat because I personally had no ties to the University and the fans always seemed smug and arrogant to me. When I got to SLU I was excited to have my own private, Catholic basketball team to be smug and arrogant about. Boy was I in for a rude awakening. "Blue Crew" was NOT a cool thing to be a part of and I remember kids on my floor giving me a hard time when I tried to get a group to go to the meetings. Getting my buddies to go to games (unless it was the Xavier game) was like pulling teeth. I desperately wanted college athletics to be a part of my college experience, and it was very disappointing that that just simply is not the type of atmosphere on Saint Louis University's campus. There is no doubt in my mind that when the team is good there will be more interest and more casual fans showing up to games. I just don't understand why Chafitz isn't consistently packed with alumni. Marquette (I know, I know but it’s the only similar university that I have to compare) has created this incredible game day atmosphere where alumni regularly meet up to attend games and root for their alma mater. I think this has to start when the students are in school. The school needs to market to the students and foster an environment that makes the team and the games a beloved part of the university experience that students and alumni alike will want to return to year after year.
  5. I'm not so sure the demand is there for the jerseys. Marquette has much more support in Milwaukee than we do in St. Louis. Marquette in general has the college basketball thing figured out everything from the marketing to the actual gameday fan experience. It's so annoying! I really wish SLU would do better.
  6. I wish you could just pay for the FSN region you wanted, not just the one you live in.
  7. Serous question for people who know: Is Pickett that good? From the videos I have watched he's just kinda "meh" to me.
