Actually now that i think about Mizzou is probably a better choice no matter where you want to work. When i go to national trainings for work and say "Saint Louis University" people look at me like i went to a community college. At least people know that Mizzou is a legit university because they see them play football.

I don't see how we can justify our tuition. If you want to work in STL after graduation it would make much more sense to go to Mizzou for a much lower price then SLU. In fact every internship i had and now at my full time job (all major corps in STL) the majority of the people went to that state school we all make fun of.

God that video is terrible.

A college football playoff would be the most watched/hyped/followed sporting event in the country. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it got better ratings then the NFL playoffs,sans the superbowl obviously.

Can we drop the whole "student athlete" BS. Big time NCAA mens football and basketball operates as a farm system to develop talent and build star power for players before they enter the NFL/NBA. Along the way they make millions for schools and fund every other NCAA event (cross country dosn't sell beer). Just give up on wanting these kids to attend class or work towards a degree. I think we need to stop pretending these kids are traditional students. If Jamie Dimon called me my sophomore year and said well give you a full time offer right now I would have kissed SLU goodbye. Thats what these kids are doing. Davis can always go back to school if he wants to, but he would be a fool to spend another second at UK. Coach Cal is working the system beautifully. It works out best for him, his players, and UK.

I think we will end up with the ACC BIg 10 Sec and PAC 16 as the 4 super conferences and just do everything we can do be in the top non 16 team power football conference.

Michigan and OSU better jobs then Illinois???? You must be joking with Purdue.....Chicago is only a curse because the Illini have not been able to land the tog dogs from there recently. Chicagoland routinely churns out the tops players in the country, and the Illini should be able to grab some of them. Your basic point is that it is a curse because so many elite players come from there that the fans expect all of them to wear orange??? If Illinois gets the right coach the program will easily be one of the top 15 in the country, and really should be top 10.

There is no reason Illinois shouldn't be a top program. Reasons they should be in the top 15 every year off the top of my head -Chicago market provides top recruits year in year out (they don't get enough of them though) -Play in the Big Ten -Huge Alumni Base -Can pay coach basically whatever he wants (or should be able to, they have some loaded alums) -Good tradition -Commitment to winning -Excellent academic school -Great home court advantage, when they were winning the Orange Crush was awesome I am very very surprised shaka turned them down. Gotta strike while the iron is hot and IMO he should have made the jump to the big time.

They had to have done the voting for this before the tournament started. Mizzou actually played pretty excellent on offense just made no attempt to stop Northfolkwhatever on defense. No coaching adjustments at all to stop them. Will be interesting to see how Haith ends up doing at Mizzourahhh

I would love to add a Chicago school. I very large portion of SLU students and alumni are from Chicago or now live in Chicago. I cannot stand the cubs, but a school from chi city every year would be a big benefit for the bills.

Agree, just win baby. Only time you make fun of another school academics is when you can't beat them on the court. Also we are ranked 90 in USNWR we are not exactly the Harvard of the Midwest.
