  1. You're right. I think most agree that no good/universal definition exists, but it's usually easy to gather what "group of teams" the writer is referring to based on the article itself... just a popular phase most fans will understand to roughly the same degree. Not that serious.
  2. Don't have a problem with being labeled mid-major at all. Most of the time I think writers are just referring to schools outside of the "power 6" conferences. I've never seen "programs like Northwestern, Nebraska, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rutgers, South Florida, Washington State, Arizona State, Colorado, South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss" labeled as mid-major. Not really a success thing. I'd call Memphis, X, and Gonzaga mid-majors too.
  3. http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/63511/dezmine-wells-decision-brightens-terps-future "Wells won't pay immediate dividends (he'll almost certainly have to sit out the customary transfer year, barring any sort of precedent-setting hardship transfer waiver ruling by the NCAA)." "Xavier's strange decision made Wells the most desirable free agent in recent transfer history."
  4. Gene Keady has been an asst. at St. John's since Oct '10, according to his Wiki... I had to look him up to see if he was still alive...
  5. This is, generally speaking, exactly what I said KC said? Sounds like (w/ GG comments) you're on the same page as he is... so maybe you can see why I drew the conclusion I did? Never commented about KC as a person or player (aside from the jilted Sr. season joke). You could be totally right about the alcohol, I was just assuming given the time, place, his comments, etc. Beat me to it.
  6. Only KC would know that we sat at a table........ #SLeUthing
  7. Yea, nailed it.. If the comments are inappropriate for this setting then feel free to delete the post. And yea it's probably safe to say the comments were fueled by alcohol.
  8. Wasn't sure whether to post but easily persuaded: Asked KC if he thought KM would/could assume most of BC's leadership role. His answer was a flat, "I hate KM", which took us back for a second. Might have actually repeated it. Obviously stood out along with the jabs at GG's lack of size/prospects. As loyal KM fans and Day-1-GG-believers, we may have decided KC was a little jilted by his Sr. season at SLU, or something. For positives, he said JM had legit size, and made it sound like he would be a beast down low. He RAVED about JJ. Said RM was pretty the much the hardass depicted in all the stories. A recorder would have helped.
  9. Gotcha. Only speculating because I randomly met KC about 2 weeks ago at Pickleman's (sandwich shop next to Humps).. We spotted him, called him out, and next thing he was sitting with us, eating his meal, and answering any Bills question we could think to ask, at 3am. "Loved" some players, "HATED" others. Not to imply GG was the "hated", but when we asked about his possible presence in the low-post, KC's reply was along the lines of "are you serious? you know he's 6'5", right?" Conversely, he seemed pretty optimistic/excited about JM. Also the Bills board itself was mentioned, so after reading MML's initial comments again, something made me draw this rash conclusion. I wasn't even aware that anyone referred to KC as "Man, Myth, Legend", torch.
  10. Made this post before explaining my theory to a buddy who would understand my claims... and he pointed out that ManMythLegend's "favorite billiken" is.... KYLE CASSITY Pretty good. Calling this one in!
  11. Wow, don't tell me how I know this, but I just figured it out. ManMythLegend is... Kyle Cassity

  13. Dana O'Neil @ ESPN http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/63302/timing-for-majerus-is-particularly-tough
  14. Totally agree, and if others don't feel the same way, I would (honestly) love to hear why. Sentimental reasons aside.
  15. Here's the Sunday paper piece: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/majerus-in-a-battle-for-his-health/article_97c4b03f-2b06-5627-b0e3-b1f7518e0fdd.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Really moving sh*t for 330 on a Saturday. Hats off to Bernie.
  16. This. How can you seriously get excited or endorse any of these guys? But being realistic and knowing the administration, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if our next HC IS chosen from this group. Whatever saves some $$. Majerus was a godsend. Best case scenario SLU starts it's HC search now (doubt it), and nails the next great up-and-coming assistant from a "major" program... who falls in love and wants to stay a la Stevens and Shaka. Easy right? This year's team may be fine, and next season with the Loe-Evans-Jett-McCall senior group. But after that? I'm terrified. Could see our recruiting falling off a cliff. Keeping Carter, based on everything we've heard about him, has to be the priority. All hands on deck. His transfer could kill us long-term. Hopefully he buys in. No matter what though, winning a shitton of games this season won't hurt.
  17. F*ck Biondi. Rick's health would have (most likely) failed no matter what, but f*ck him. Couple national articles about the step-down: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/19899912/rick-majerus-heart-issue-may-signal-end-of-remarkable-career http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/andy_glockner/08/24/rick-majerus-indefinite-medical-leave-saint-louis/index.html?eref=twitter_feed
  18. I think you're failing to consider the same thing... and 50/50 is actually a pretty good ratio for said board.
  19. Scoop's scoop. Anyone over 6'8" gets me real excited.
  20. Great stuff. Also had a little back-and-forth with Andy Glockner on Twitter last night when he was asking people what games should be considered for this list (I said SLU/KU, *semi-final results pending), and his response was, "Discussed that game possibility last week. Love it. Have SLU-Washington on this list, though." Here's the excerpt/link to the CBE classic preview he wrote: "CBE Classic: Kansas will be favored in the Kansas City event, but the Texas A&M-Saint Louis semi should be worth admission on its own. The Billikens should be the preseason pick to win the Atlantic 10 and the Aggies should be more settled than last season, when head coach Billy Kennedy's illness really helped derail things from the outset. If it's a Kansas-Saint Louis final, count me in. Two outstanding coaches and local teams that should generate a lot of buzz in the Sprint Center." http://sportsillustr...ents/index.html #BillikensRising
  21. Hopefully this isn't a serious question, since Pistol was clearly asking a question/theorizing himself, and not stating fact. Maybe brush up on a little reading comprehension.. (also, "neighborhoods" in quotes? nice.)
