  1. I agree. This is tournament-level competition. Perhaps Cory can strengthen his shoulder with some fierce towel-waving?
  2. You make good points. Maybe I'm being harder on this team than others; but I think the bar for SLU to get into the tournament is pretty high. We only have one horrible loss (LMU) and 2 toss-ups that the national pundits aren't saying are killers. If SLU gets to your 7 or my 8, there should be no doubt how good the Billikens are. I like your optimism with the line "I would love to have the opportunity to prove this...."
  3. To be fair to the writer, he's been very complimentary of SLU until this pyramid. This was a change for him after a couple tough losses.
  4. I'll go on record as saying it won't. 8+ at minimum. Two showcase games around the first of the year; two bad losses. That's what I'm going on.
  5. I guess we can retire the Poll watch for the year. At least until the Preseason poll next year anyway.
  6. http://eye-on-college-basketball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/26283066/34283566 I'm assuming this would go in the "not good reads" thread actually, but does mention Billikens.
  7. It worked last night to say take the points. So I'll do just that. And hope I get a repeat trip to the Cleaners.
  8. Temple will be a nice test. I like that it's at Chaifetz as well.
  9. KC to the foul line. That is not a misprint.
  10. But they didn't forfeit the season, so it was about the money.
  11. I know Utah was not going to be very good this year, but 4-11? Kansas was close early with OK, but superior talent wins.
  12. Dayton by 10 over Temple. Must destroy GW and Temple.
  13. I see the Kwamain influence on the two players compared. Brian Conklin is having a tremendous year with KM getting him the rock.
  14. Today: Washington beat Utah on the road 57-53, and Oklahoma fell at home to #14 Kansas 72-61.
  15. Scaling back expectations is what this program has done for many years. I believe the program needs to quit doing that.
  16. I'd like to see Kyle coming off the bench as well. It's exceedingly difficult to win when a 30 minute guy does not have to be guarded on offense. He's normally a solid defender and careful with the ball, so he has a definite value to the team. But one area he doesn't help is putting the ball in the basket (right now). I like the fact that we have good players that are worthy of having an argument about. As you long timers know, that wasn't always the case.
  17. If he's not going to score, he needs to blank his man to be effective. That's hard to do.
  18. 21 seems awfully high for a team not playing good basketball of late. I agree with Taj. Take the points and hope you end up at the Cleaners.
  19. Using same scale KM--2 Just not the same player he was before. KC--1 There's just nothing there anymore. DE--5 Needs more PT to go higher BC--10 Best offensive weapon on the team, and really not close. RL--5 Getting better inside slowly. JJ-- 7 Very good defender who should be starting. MM-6 About where he should be...buzzard's luck last night from 3 CR--2 Is he still playing? CE--9 Great job off the bench coming in and scoring. I wondered how he'd handle a bench role. Very nice. JB--n/a Hasn't been on the floor enough to notice
  20. 1-3 actually. LMU, UNM, Dayton. Bad losses all.
  21. Bizzle. Lot of good stuff in your post. These "close" losses are still losses though. I guess that is the inherent difference in our thinking (I don't give credit for "almost" winning).
  22. Good evaluation. I didn't think 12-4 would be enough before though. Just gotta take care of our own business.
  23. Well said Tonka. If we want to get where we want to be, games like this have to be guaranteed wins.
