  1. This is like leaving Microsoft to work at DePaul's IT Dept.
  2. Good observation. I mean, does the kid have a driver's license yet? haha I hope he sticks around. He's the epitome of a student-athlete.

  4. I'm pretty sure Butler's coffers will be overflowing after all the revenue earned in merchandising, etc. Plus, they only had to pay for hotels and bus trips to and from Lucas Oil....compared to what Duke, MSU and WVU spent on travel, Butler spent a cup of coffee.
  5. Australian history...interesting. The only country on earth started as a prison colony.
  6. Yeah, me too. Fondly, Patrick O'Bryant
  7. The first time I heard Teddy P was driving with former Athletic Dept. member Terry Elmore down to Savvis for my first ever Billiken game my freshman year. It was a bit awkward when Elmore yelled "God damn! Turn 'em off!" during the song "Turn off the Lights." Looking back, any time I hear Teddy P on the AM radio dial, I always think about SLU hoops.
  8. Butler was also an incredible solider of fortune... Playing Syracuse without one of their studs...playing K-State after they went 2OT against Xavier in the high altitude of SLC...playing MSU without Kalin Lucas....they were almost knocked out in the round of 32 by Murray State. That's why we love college basketball. Last night's game was watching history. We will probably never see a run like Butler's ever again. A lot of bounces went their way.
  9. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...95?OpenDocument interesting to note, I Google'd "Butler basketball" last night around 11:45 pm and this was the first hit. Nice pub for SLU basketball if people across the country were googling.
  10. Used to be a great rivalry back in the (old) MVC days. Fondly, Doug Elgin

  12. Wow...interesting choice. SLU over Yale. Good call.
  13. Quietly under the radar as far as SLU sports go. The A-10 has been a great move for the Lady Bills.
  14. Good insight. Recruits from the MCC (especially CCP) always seem to have more than just athletics going for them. Thanks, pistol.
  15. Awesome. Sounds like a hell of a player. Good kid too.
  16. Great. Do you guys know if any other schools were going after him? i.e. Indiana, Notre Dame>
  17. SLU_Billikens Good news for @SLUMensSoccer as Sito Sasieta (Chaminade) inked NLI today. He's be a Billiken, and you'll see him in action this fall! Don't know much about this kid...would any of you posters provide some insight? Pistol?
  18. I was in College Station two years ago for a soccer tournament with my sister. The GHWB presidential library is on campus and very nice...Hoping to get down there this fall for an Aggies football game.
  19. It would be possible. A number of large 15-20 seat private jets are hangared out at Parks. Spirit (Lindbergh) Airport would be another option, but you basically drive past Lambert to get there.
  20. I think most sports fans, regardless of geographic location, are aware of the TAMU 12th man tradition.
  21. I second the Dulles opine, obviously named after America's worst DCI, Allen Dulles.
  22. Yikes. Talk about a backhand to the old ego. Red Auerbach -- nice one.
  23. I'd hate to think Majerus showed him the door, but if it was mutual, Reid probably didn't put up a fight. Often, coaches will do this in the best interest of a player. Majerus wouldn't have recruited him if he didn't think he could play. Circumstances being as they may, his injury probably opened the door for Loe.
