What is wrong with this program and guys not being able to stay healthy? I don’t remember guys ever missing games under Majerus/Crews. I’m sure it happened, but not to this extent for sure. Already we’ve had Parker, Meadows, Hughes, Thames either missing time or seriously limited. Is it a strength and conditioning problem? Do we have more diagnostic capability? Or are players less willing to play through small injuries? 18-23 year olds should not be getting injured this often.

Even in many of our wins we are outscored in the second half. One of the bigger indictments on Ford’s coaching for sure. Heck, we only outscored Lincoln by 4 in the second half. Good coaches make halftime adjustments, our coach does… well, does anyone know what our coach does?

I don’t know where Kenpom, etc currently have them, but the eye test says that was a 100-130 team. Bad shooting, not particularly athletic or good defensively. I agree it was a good half, especially by our standards. We’ve played a lot of good first halves in the last 7 years. Let’s string together two consecutive good ones.

I don’t agree that player development is meaningless. Obviously a team’s roster can change massively year to year, but you still need to develop some players, unless you’re getting absolute studs in the transfer portal routinely… which we are clearly not. Has there been even one player from SLU that “transferred up”? The only two that were even rumored to do so were Yuri and Gibson, and we managed to keep them. Id say develop the players, and if they’re good you fight to keep them. So far we are 2/2 in that regard. I wouldn’t be afraid to “showcase his skills” out of fear of him transferring.

Well he’s been asked to bring up the ball which isn’t really his game. Don’t know if I’ve seen enough to comment on his court vision. Wheat I have seen is a player who works hard and doesn’t look out of place, and seems to have potential as a multi level scorer. Probably our Jimerson heir- would be a shame to lose him because we didn’t play him in a lost season.

You’re joking right? He has 5 assists TOTAL in the other 11 games he’s played, while averaging 26+ minutes. I know it’s the cool thing right now on this board to tell other people how wrong they are, but I’m not wrong on this one. I have never seen a player in a Billiken uniform pass less, and we just witnessed the Okoro years.

I also think we are going to regret not playing Curcic more. I get that minutes are limited, but that kid can play. I guess we were out of other options, but pretty crazy to put him in for the first time in a close game with 45 seconds or whatever left.

I fear Dalger is in the starting lineup for good. He is the new Ford favorite. I don’t mind his defense and rebounding, but he never passes, and should not be shooting ever.

Well considering that every decent big has dominated us this year, and that Saturday Brad looked like the best offensive big we’ve had since Hasahn (and can make a FT), maybe we should throw our playbook out the window and just let him play like he’s on the scout team. I don’t think we need to be getting him the ball at the top of the arc, which is what we do with all our bigs for whatever reason. Ezewiro’s scoring inside also really opened up the outside for Jimerson, which we haven’t seen for a couple years at least.

TJH and Gibby maybe the last great 4/5 year Billikens. Happy for them and the fans. Felt good to finally have fun at a game again.
