  1. How does that work? I know for Mizzou's current football recruiting class they signed more kids than they have sholarships available. It was reported that we offered him a scholarship, so wouldn't that mean he can accept at any time regardless of numbers?
  2. He did. He stayed around during the transition and Rick's first season before moving onto Green Bay. I know Cardinal Ritter standout Terry Evans was a starter for them last season and had a nice career there.
  3. That is great, Earl is an awesome guy.
  4. The offense is really struggling of late. We need to get the ball into Willie everytime down the court. 32-20 with 1:36 remaining in the half.
  5. 32-14. Willie again, he is absolutely dominating them.
  6. 30-14 after we go back into Willie after missing some threes.
  7. 28-12 with 7:40 left in the 1st. Where did Indiana State finish in the MVC? They are completely overmatched.
  8. We should give it Willie every time down the court. They have no chance of stopping him. 22-9 after two buckets from Willie.
  9. I hope we keep it on them and go for 100. 18-6
  10. I have a hard time seeing how they are going to hang with us. We look like we are on a completely different level than Indiana State. 15-4 We are scoring at will.
  11. That is funny you mention the smell of Terre Haute. I work with a guy that lived in Indiana for a number of years while he worked for a utility in Evansville. He was telling us how he often had to go on the road to visit various areas of the state that the utility served and how Terre Haute has a very distinct bad smell. He said he thought the reason for the odor was due to the paper plant and as Roy mentioned the railroad tie manufacturing facility. You really do notice it.
  12. You kidding me, this is a joke. We got screwed.
  13. I don't mean to argue with you, I just do not see the comparison between Conklin and Sloan, although if you are saying that is the role you would like him to fill (tough player that is going to fight for rebounds and effort points and hit open 10-15 footers while stealing you a possession on the offensive glass) I can see it. Luke Meyer filled that role on more recent Billiken teams. I apologize for coming across as attacking you. I was told that May has already started putting together the NIT resume. Hopefully we get one last chance to root on our Billikens this year.
  14. Sloan was more of a perimter player coming in, he was a 3 who had the toughness that allowed him to play as more of a power forward due to needs there. Chris Sloan was listed at 6-7 215 and a G/F. Conklin is listed at 6-6 230 and a F. Sloan has a much more lean and athletic build, while Conklin has the build of a blocking tight end. Sloan came in as a wing player that Romar needed to play in the post his sophomore season along with Kenny Brown and had the toughness and smarts to play there although undersized and not his natural position. I worked for the team under Romar and Sloan started the season doing position drills with the guards and as they started playing games and needed him to play in the post he started splitting his time between the guards and bigs. Conklin is and can only be a power forward. Sloan started 16 games as a freshman as a 3 with Justin Tatum and Chris Heinrich playing down low. Sloan provided the type of numbers you would hope Conklin can get to and in similar ways as far as hustle points, but they are not similar players in my opinion. Sloan was a good athlete with some ball skills and could defend guards and run the floor while Conklin is purely a power forward that lacks the foot speed to guard outside of the post and offensively is very limited. A better comparison for Conklin would be Ross Varner. I would say Luke Meyer was a more recent comparison to Chris Sloan
  15. Maybe listed as the same height, but not the same builds. Sloan was more of a guard (a pure 3) who was forced to play down low because of our needs there. Conklin came in as purely a power forward. Sloan was a fairly good athlete while Conklin is a banger with little to no athletic or basketball ability.
  16. Is this a joke? Sloan and Conklin are not even remotely similar players other than they are both white and play hard.
  17. Especially when the posts come during or right after a bad loss or a big win.
  18. It is getting really frustrating. I will be ignoring Bay Area from here on out. I appreciate how he adamantly defends that he does not dislike Mizzou though.
  19. Absolutely, this team definitely exceeded my expectations. I am ready for next season.
  20. I don't think I have been to Sundeckers since high school. How was it for watching a game?
  21. Give the Mizzou trash talk a rest, the vast majority of the posters on this board don't care. If you want to go back and forth with someone do it over PMs.
  22. I would not say the refs screwed us in this one, we were just dominated by a team that came out and played like they wanted it more. Rhode Island has some guys that can really get up. 63-47 final with Mitchell padding his stats with some late 3s.
  23. Rhode Island absolutely dominated us on the glass today. Sad effort from the Billikens today.
