A healthy KL would have helped, but even if he scores 14 (his average), they don't win. It has already been established that his defense isn't affected much by the injury and he was in there to provide those services all game. He even grabbed 5 boards. The real problem was turnovers, not KL's health. -

He's been hurt all year and he played the whole game. He's not the only reason they lost tonight. -
He's probably just checking his private messages. What do you care anyway? Why is this even a topic of conversation?

They've had a week off and Rhode Island is no national power. There's no reason they couldn't have taken this one. -

This one still hurts for me. Totally unexpected... especially in this fashion. -
Maybe he's going for a triple double.

Only 5 more rebounds and 9 more assists to go tonight.

My point exactly.

I think you're preaching to the choir, A Bomb. Everyone here is following the game. As for Ramsey, try listening the game on mute. That should cure your problem. The man is nails on a chalkboard, despite being a huge Bills fan.

Do you at least have some left over Imo's to comfort you?

Ha, unfortunately, I'm in class.

Lisch is 0-3, not 0-9.

Rhode Island Pregame Thread

URI is favored from anywhere between 1 to 1.5 for tonight's game depending on where you look. I think the bookmakers are pretty much right on. The game is pretty even with a slight edge going to URI because they're at home. I think SLU can take this one. SLU +1.5 is a good bet. -

Same here. Thanks for the report. -
Sounds like your typical "not gonna say anything" interview.

Conference RPI Ratings

The NIT wouldn't be all bad. At least we'd get to see more SLU games this year. -
A PF would be necessary.

Joe Hammas still plays for the Milwaukee Wave. http://www.milwaukeewave.com/players/?id=24 He's from my hometown here in Wisconsin and went to my gradeschool, highschool, and SLU, but he's a few years older than me. By coincidence, I think we spent 17 years in the same schools, all told. Anyway, he's still going strong for the Wave.

response: "give me a break"

BTW, I'm tired of reading about people arguing about recruiting on this board. I'm going to begin writing a series of articles for the board. The first topic will be the pack-line defense. I'll take requests for articles to be written later. -

I don't think anyone was giving the Bills much of a chance to win this one. I sure wasn't. I was in the boat with Tom Timmerman in thinking that taking 1 of the 2 against X and URI would be an accomplishment, and that that 1 would be more likely to come next week. The only thing that stings is the fact that they were beaten so badly. I would be a lot more discouraged if they had shot terribly from the field. I thought it was a good effort by JJ in scrub time, another good effort and performance by Lisch considering his injuries, and a great game by Polk. It's too bad Tommie and Ian couldn't get it going this game, but, hey, how many teams perform well on the road against quality opponents? Not many. At halftime, I was pretty down on the team. I was thinking that without the ability to beat teams of X's caliber on the road, that an NCAA bid is basically moot. The A-10 champ is probably going to get a 12 seed. What potential 5 seeds could SLU beat with the way they're playing at this point in the season? Texas? Georgetown? I don't think so. I realize that any talk of the NCAA is a stretch, but think about it. Do you want to see SLU embarassed in the first round of the tournament that bad? Right now though, I think SLU has a decent chance to finish in the top half of the A-10. They could potentially win the A-10 tournament. There's nothing I'd like to see more than an NCAA bid just for the sake of exposure and recruiting pull, but seriously, who can this team beat in the tourney? The only top 25 teams that SLU matches up well with that I've seen are Notre Dame (out of the AP poll) and Southern Illinois. I realize I'm all over the place, but I just want to point out that a loss on the road to Xavier isn't the end of the world. SLU still has a shot at making a run, but it won't be until A-10 tourney time. I just hope everyone is comfortable with a merely superficial tournament appearance if they accomplish their goal. I'm comfortable with that, and I'll be rooting for an appearance for the sake of appearing. I hope that even the Kool Aiders realize that this isn't a team that can compete with top 30 talent this season.
