The Sycamore fans don’t know anything about the most iconic mascot in college sports.

It doesn’t look like GibJim recognizes The Great One.
It is the great one's ghost. Cant see see it in person only shows up on cell phone cameras.

Stu gets a private interview with him afterwards. So do other media members. I expect better questions in those interviews.

This tone is very standard for SLU events.
Bringing in the family is a nice touch.
It was. May is really good at that stuff.

Why do they have comments turned off? that reduces visibility.

You're just mad he wants to be on your podcast
I’m hearing that Tony Murkens will be on the Midtown Madness podcast.

You’d have to think who he could bring and what it would cost was discussed. Would he have come without some assurances they’d cover it? I don’t think so. I’m getting the vibe that SLU has finally grasped that hoops is a critical piece in the school’s success.
From what I understand if we lose out on a player we target it won’t because the Billikens can’t afford the player. A group of individuals/families are making a huge commitment to the program. They have my complete gratitude.
That doesn’t mean they will spend like drunken sailors. They aren’t going to spend millions to steal Cooper Flagg from Duke. It just means the resources needed for the talent Schertz believe he needs to compete at a high level will be there.

From Trilly:
Saint Louis head coach Josh Schertz is hiring Zak Boisvert as an assistant coach, per sources.
He was on Schertz original staff at ISU. Been at GW last 2 seasons. Might have been his first hire there. Outside of the season at ISU he has been on the East Coast.

One thing they need to do is set it up so people can make recurring donations (monthly, quarterly, annually, or whatever). Right now it appears to be one time.
This has been something I have been banging on forever. They are limiting what they can raise by not having that option. Even Indiana St had a recurring donation option.

Need someone to go onto their board and ask which players are coming. They would find that funny.
They are delusional over there. Schertz leaving completely broke them. I really do understand being disappointed, but they have lost touch with reality. Nobody acted like that when Romar left here for Washington.

ISU board melt down. Just silliness. The program, the school belongs, to us the graduates. it doesn't belong to the AD who is not a SLU grad. It doesn't belong to the President, who is not a SLU grad. It doesn't belong to the coach, who is not a SLU grad. It doesn't belong to the players unless they become SLU grads. To expect loyalty and anything other than coach speak is niaviete. It's especially niaviete in 2024.
So steel yourselves true Billiken fans if Schertz is successful here he probably moves on and we break the heart of another lesser supported Basketball program when we have to hire again.
C'est la vie
I'll enjoy the 3 years and hope we hire well again. I'm not a fan of Kentucky or Michigan or UCLA we're somewhere in the middle and I'm at peace with that place.
Only got one thing to say to about the people over at SycamorePride
