    Yeah, agree.

Just saying that the inverse (NCAA respecting Federal laws) has decidedly not always been the case.

There are plenty of work arounds to the student visa issue in NIL. They can get paid for events done in their home country. They can get paid for any sort of work done while on a foreign MTE or offseason trip. They can get earn passive income from merchandise sales. Its more a timing issue than anything.

I can’t believe all these other schools are passing on Ahearn. Don’t they listen to Kevin Slaten?

I can't believe they aren't listening to Greg Popovich or Bill Self or Bobby Knights ghost either!!

If Josh Schertz is a man of his word, which all signs indicate he is, everyone here will be pleased. Further, there’’s no sense in rooting against this ISU team this week. The more post-season experience this team has, the better.

He didn't get the nickname Dirty Schertz for nothing............

Mo state never made sense. In the interview with McCollum a while back that was posted here, the question was asked what schools needed to have for you to consider going to, and said they needed to be in position to win the conference. Mo state is far from that(although losing Schertz and Devries is a start).

I don't think he WANTS a D1 job. He has had chance after chance and theres always something just not right with it.

It's pretty simple. All of them currently occupy the Head Coach chair.

He already is an Assistant in the NBA.  That's all they would have to offer.

They are referring to a college Head Coaching position.

    Got it?

Nope. Pop passed on him. Self has had plenty of opportunity to hire him for similar money. Donovan has never hired him either. Weird how that works, isnt it? But I’ll assume you’re a standard issue “rules for thee but not for me” thinker.

Little ol SLU should hire him because some of his buddies are still hurt that he was somehow snubbed by SLU 20 years ago?!

How many jobs out there are better than the SLU job currently? Louisville, Michigan, Washington, Ohio St (3 big ten teams for next year) for sure. Oklahoma St has money but kind of seems like a dead spot. Stanford is a good job but requires a unique candidate. West Virginia is just pretty meh. I would definitely not put Vandy ahead of SLU. This is currently a top 5 job on the market. Go get a stud.

I don't disagree that SLU is a top job, but the conference affiliation is still there. Vandy being in the SEC is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> A10. That alone puts it ahead of SLU, imo.

Just hire a new compliance person, problem solved.  He’s been here a minute, it should not be too hard to do.  And he can bring on some of his people.

No you just can't have someone from the narc department in charge.

I admittedly don’t have any insight into the hierarchy of the Athletic Department, but is the guy they hired to oversee compliance and NIL someone to keep an eye on as a potential successor?

I’m a believer that you can never have the compliance guy become the guy in charge.

SLU's worst team, by results, in many, many years lost to Drake by 6 on the road.  Sounds rather comparable.  Do we really want comparable for our next hire?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, but if you take the other common opponent, SLU lost to SIU by 40 at SIU. Indiana State beat SIU by 29 at SIU. That is a 69 point difference.

A Schertz hire would be fantastic. Looking for a new side hustle so if we end up hiring him, PM me if you're interested in going in on a new Schertz clothing line with me.  Schertz shirts and shorts for the portly fella.  Anyone have an elastic guy? Avila would be a home run get too although there will be a lot of competition for him this offseason. I wouldn't bank on him following Schertz should he depart.

Schertz appears to be a more realistic hire but Mack is still my top choice for head coach. However other than Trilly's tweet a few weeks back there has been nothing to suggest Mack has any interest in the job.

His nickname is Dirty Schertz so...

Just hope the people making the decision realize if they are being used for leverage and if they are they quickly move on to the next guy before the next guy comes to some kind of agreement somewhere else.

I don't care about hiring the biggest name we can get.  We need to hire the right guy to coach this program right now.  The college basketball world is completely different than it was even 2 years ago.

I don't know if Porter needs the leverage really. He has a job with a healthy contract already and isn't in danger of being fired this cycle. He apparently has some sort of potential offer at DePaul as well.

SLU is a much better job than DePaul in basically every category except conference affiliation. But DePaul is at 'home' for the family.
