  1. On Crawford, a recent poster said he and friends were to see him play this weekend and post their impressions of him.
  2. Nice win by Charlotte. Now let's beat them! Should help the RPI.
  3. Any chance Mike could grow a couple of more inches? That would be nice. Is he a redshirt candidate or is ready to play?
  4. Need this to break soon. SLU needs an invite to help get the right coach and to boost recruiting. Fall of 2013 is huge for SLU, need to have things in place for recruiting,
  5. I like the week off. And I especially like that Charlotte is coming in after playing a road game at Butler on Wednesday. They certainly are not going to be preparing for us with a game with Butler earlier the same week. So the Bills have a week to prepare for Charlotte, Charlotte has two days with one being a travel day. Like our chances. And then VCU has three games in five days (at home next Thursday and next Saturday, then a long trip to St. Louis for a game on the following Tuesday). I like how this stacks up for the Bills.
  6. Big game. Bills need to bring there A game. No let down.
  7. All I have to say is that jet, Loe, Evans and McCall is about the best recruiting class I can recall for SLU. There have been other good ones but you have to go back to the 80's and 90'to find them.
  8. Maybe, but besides them, there really wasn't much. You can't win with just two good players. As we see now, you need a solid 8 - 9 man rotation.
  9. Actually Maguire was indeed a three star recruit. See link to Rivals. http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/commitments/2006/SaintLouis-654 And he was also a three star on Scout. See link to Scout. http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=9&c=8&cfg=bb&toinid=443&yr=2006 And yes, he was 6'5" HS front court player. Crawford is a NR. Just waiting to see if he is indeed a D1 player. Hope he is a player for SLU. Wouldn't want anything else.
  10. Absolutely not taking a shot at the kid. At 6'5" he has just got to be able to defend and handle the ball because in college he will be a 2/3 perimeter player. Think of Dustin Maguire. Great HS player about the same height as Crawford. Wasn't quick enough and couldn't handle the ball well enough to play D1. But one heck of a HS and pretty good D2 player. Never panned out at SLU. And if I remember, Dustin was a 2 or 3 star player by the national recruiting gurus. Just hoping Mike can adapt.
  11. I for one will reserve judgment until I see him play at the college level. I've seen a lot of great looking 6'5" high school centers and forwards. The question is, can he turn himself into a good ball-handling 2 guard/small forward. If he has the ball-handling skills and shooting skills then yes, he might be a steal. If not, he is a very under-sized front court player. Here's hoping he has the quickness, ball-handling and shooting skills to make it at the D-1 level.
  12. Now let's sign a big guard or small forward and a power forward to compliment Mr. Crawford.
  13. Boy, and did he not realize that next year he would have been playing 30 minutes a game in all likelihood????? To bad, he looked like a very good player. Yes, under the right scenario, would nice to have him back.
  14. It is interesting that UMass has an RPI of 47, higher than SLU. I don't see that they really beat anybody. I guess this just means their competition has been better than SLU's so far. They are 9-3 and we are 11-3 so not much difference there. Hope we do win by 12 but it might be closer than we think.
  15. Bored with the lack of new topics. 1. How are McBroom and Drew looking if anyone has had a chance to see them practice? 2. Any news on possible recruits? 3. Etc.
  16. Great win but I worry about playing only 8 guys. And Barnet played less than 10 minutes. Manning needs 10 minutes a game and Barnet hopefully can play better and get 12 minutes or more. We need at least 9 guys getting minutes or our guys will wear down.
  17. Well, I am not looking over SIU-E (okay, yes I am) but a win over New Mexico would be a nice RPI booster for SLU. New Mexico is currently sitting in the top 20 in the country in terms of RPI.
  18. Greg McDermott, current Creighton coach and past Norhern Iova coach. He just wins at mid-major schools.
  19. I've not followed this topic, but one thing is for sure, we will really be thin in the front-court next year if we don't decide on a coach. We lose two 6'8" players next year and hopes for recruiting replacement bigs is pretty dim with an uncertain coaching situation. Manning and Glaze better step up because we may not have an alternative if we string this coaching decision out. I am not saying we should settle on Crews. In fact, I would like to see us make some more waves by getting a name coach. But SLU will have to open their wallets. Make the NCAA's at least every other year and the name coach is paid for and the butts will be in the seats. Perhaps a name coach will have some players to bring with him.
  20. Maybe he will have a growth spurt and come in at 6' 8". It could happen.
  21. Hate to say this, but SLU losses this one.
  22. Bad game for SLU but the team we lost to is a pretty good team. Get CM & KM back & we are OK. In the meantime we need to have some guys step up. I think they will starting with Texas A&M. Hope we have CM back.
  23. 23 - 7 Bye in A10 Tourney NCAA Bid Sweet 16
