The real question is should we buy into the Billiken hype or watch every game with the same feeling of doom as when the Cards send a decent reliever into the game for the fourth day in a row trusting the reigning world series champs will go down quietly?

He should love recruiting for our facilities and return to flat land. Pittsburgh and Western PA it is hard to go anyplace without figuring up, down and which bridge to take. They are having a long overdue resurrgence in MLB though.

Another piece to the puzzle if we get him. High ankle sprain had him miss 15 games senior year. Another guy with something to prove. If he does as well for us as Pickett it would be a plus.

Perkins had a career ending injury and Travis Ford stuck by his Team- giving Jimmerson, Perkins and Yuri every minute they could walk on the court- they just did not perform to the level needed. Thus is a coach who sticks with his players.

Oklahoma was not a good team and he was not a regular contributor at 3.2 points a game for a combo guard. He had size but also looked bench sitting soft in photos- not an energizer bunny physique like Yuri or Jimmer

My only criticism of Ford would be over hyping Yuri and a team that did not come together- somewhat like the CEO who touts his stock knowing the current numbers may not be a true predictor of success. If I was a recruit I would want a coach who was all in for me- not ones like Grawer and Winfield who played their own kids instead of Clagget, benched Footes several times for taking over games and held Douglas out of late minutes in Games so Gray could catch him in statistics

Maybe because some people are still students and want to be left to study. Not every one is a “grad transfer” who is in it for a fifth year of basketball only

Nothing wrong with Yuri but I enjoyed and trusted kwamain mitchell and Jordair Jett at the ends of games. We have had many Billikens over the years that could eke out a victory when Yuri had the ball at the end I had less confidence that a big could catch his pass or that he could drive and finish. I liked Yuri butvthus team needed more than just Yuri. He could not make up for the liss of Thatch, Jr on defense; he could not heal Javonte’ Perkins leg and he got beat by 2?or 3?A10 guards. So he was not an All American like Easy Ed Mc Cauley

Good luck to Yuri! it takes a team effort from 5 players to win and somehow in spite of Ford being Yuri’s biggest advocate. The team seemed to come together with L Hughes Jr toward the end of season as he got over freshman awkwardness. My hope is Yuri is successful in future but having more ball handlers like Cian Medley and Hughes may leave us less vulnerable. Some of these other “bigger” “guards” may give us what we missed by Fred Thatch Jr being hurt. Bravo to Coach Ford for supporting all his kids even the special ones who are driven by personal ambition.

Parker will keep shooting and we certainly need baskets places other than three pointer and for his size he rebounds reasonably, alertly. Question if his speed can be better; you could tell he was often lost, a step behind on defense and at times he could kick it yo a new level- this will be interesting.

Francis Okoro stats show he was a good rebounder- but little else and Yuri never did learn to pass well to Francus and Forrest in my opinion. Rebound- we were a team that had one rebounder in many games. We need a hungry man. Welcome you are going to Love Saint Louis

I am happy to see us land a starter quality player. We need rebiunding and sciring from that position and we should have minutes for several players if coach Ford let’s them run and be a high scoring team. We need to score more points off steals

We need rebounding and lane defense if Stef scores with dunks that is a plus

I think fans don’t notice the wars that rebounders and bigs engage in and free throw shooting after being hammered may be different than what ones, twos, threes experience

Since Linsen left we have had no big rebounding and enforcing the land- dissenters will point to Okoro double doubles but I think Okoro disappeared as often as he starred in games for us.

Linsen was really good until hurt and Ford settled in with Okoro must have known he couldn’t keep Linsen another year. I would have preferred two Linsens over him and OKoro as that year Okoro did not look fully recovered either. Definiely was not a bust.

Where was it Mizzou used to send players to summer school to pick up 15-20 credit hours?

Kuany Kuany supposedly a good student that is a plus but at 9 ppg and 3+ rebounds he has to have a bigger, stronger 4-5 to replace Okoro at 11 and 8

I did not think we could afford Chris Harriman with what 10 more years experience. SLU had great players and returned Lisch, Conklin, and Jordair Jet to the Aussies- i am on board

34 years old still playing and won two different league MVP awards; contract terminated after he played in 17 games for huge pay increase as team was not winning or putting fans in seats. Not the first big money guy to get the boot. If you read interviews from Germanhoops.com he has played with great players around the world. credits Majerus for his “Conklin summer” and his experience of four years at SLU and winning against many perrenial NCAA tournament tradition teams would be a big plus for our current recruiting
