  1. I guess only in the sports world is continuity and experience not a valuable tool in building an organization. It seems that the plan many are advocating is give a coach 4 years and if they don’t make it to the top of the heap, blow it up and start over again. Very few schools deviate from that probably because of pressure from vocal critics. But is that the best way to build a program? What is magical about 4 or even 7 years at the same school, maybe they would be better at 10? Most successful businesses do so because of they have had continuity in their leadership and philosophy. A school shouldn’t just look at a Coaches record ( albeit important) but at the progress of the overall program which would include recruiting, relationships with coaches from high schools, sponsors, donors, the media, facilities, and development of players, etc. We have two excellent examples of schools in the A10 who have been successful going this route, Davidson and St Bonaventure. I think in the larger scheme, Coach Ford is building a program that is close to bringing this program to where we all want it to be. I think Chris May is well aware of this as well. Ford is consistently bringing in quality player, we have a big time donor and supporter of the program, the facilities are top notch, our coach is very good with the media, and something not talked about much, he is a quality human being. Talk to some of the fans who attend road games how Ford will take time to visit with them and thank them for their support. No one knows the future, but I like it better with a plan than rolling the dice every few years and hope you get lucky. There was actually a study done a few years ago and it supports some of the points I made with actual data. https://athleticdirectoru.com/articles/the-relationship-between-staff-continuity-and-team-performance-part-i/
  2. I know it’s a popular narrative to say the Billikens play a slow paced game but the facts don’t bare it out. SLU is 34th in the nation and first in the A10 in fast break points… https://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1/current/team/1285
  3. It was probably asked because they have been around nitwits like you who are and have been delusional about Ford being fired.. that said, it’s interesting that you have such a close relationship with Frank that you know his questions in advance…again if you want to make a point, why can’t you do it honestly??
  4. Do you not know what the word tied means.. I know you’re trying to be funny Larry, but you failed again…and let me help George Mason finished 5th… why is it so hard for a Ford hater to be honest???
  5. For the record they finished tied for second, but you knew that right???? 4th just sounds so much better to you haters…
  6. You Ford hater are a joke.. May didn’t have to comment on Ford’s job security, he did so, BECAUSE HE WAS ASKED ABOUT IT DIRECTLY BY FRANK… it’s a sign of a weak argument when you continually have to lie and mislead to make your point.
  7. I’ve already learned from the Ford haters that they aren’t interested in excuses. The narrative that Camara didn’t deserve those fouls just isn’t true. I just take issue with those who are trying to minimize the Billikens play in the win. The same fans didn’t seem to care that Akoro missed the previous game in their critique of the coaching. Camara has had issues with fouls all season, as most bigs.
  8. Camara was 3 of 8 from the field. That’s hardly unstoppable.
  9. They weren’t guarding him on the play. He smartly got the ball back to Collins.
  10. Schmidt has a mediocre record in his total years at st bonaventure. He had several horrendous years. If fans like you had been in control he would have been long gone before he had success. Look it up, would you have tolerated his first 7 years??? Thanks for proving my point.
  11. Let me help, the system is severely rigged against the mid majors and will remain so, regardless of who the coach or program is, something Ford haters don’t understand. Their solution is just fire the coach and start over. They are unable to recognize that despite not being a perineal NCAA Tournament team that significant progress has been made towards achieving that goal with coaching stability and a strong recruiting base. Anthony Grant and Dayton are taking that approach as well. You are extremely naïve when you think bringing in a new coach is going to result in immediate success. The best you can do is point to Mizzou which is not remotely comparable to a Mid Major program. They are able to play a crap schedule and be a .500 team in conference play and get a bid, we don’t have that luxury. It’s also highly debatable that a strategy like that is sustainable.
  12. Trivia question for Ford haters, This is Anthony Grants 6th season at Dayton. How many NCAA appearances have they had? Now going by Ford hater standards, just answer the question, not interested in excuses.
  13. I never once said you didn’t have the right to your opinion, the one who wants to censor dissent is you. I was wrong it’s not the you continually ***** about the Coach it’s just that you constantly criticize the coach, even after wins… thanks for pointing out that important difference.. it’s sad you can’t see the irony, the ones who are angry are the ones who can’t tolerate someone who supports the current coach… it’s also noteworthy that none of the Ford haters can name any benefits to their constant“criticism” outside of the obvious of encouraging the administration to blow up the program. ok, now back to the discussion of those prized recruits. Maybe we can speculate where they go once Ford is hopefully fired.
  14. Amusing that you’re excited by future players, yet want the guy who recruited them to be fired…
  15. Interesting, that my opinions are insulting, but yours and those who agree with you aren’t… I must say that speaks volumes about your thought process….I do wonder how you think your continual bitching about the coach is helpful??? Does it help with recruiting??? Does it help encourage people to attend games? Do you think it helps the university’s image??? I’m a fan, not always a happy one but I’ve never seen the need to publicly rip the players or the coach. Try writing Chris May or the coaches, you may be pleasantly surprised by their response.
  16. Stop the bs, you have one agenda and that’s to get rid of the coach and everyone knows it…
  17. I sometimes wonder if you realized our opponents have scholarships as well? Basketball at this level is extremely competitive and blowouts are the exception not the rule… but I get it, bitching and complaining for some is always more gratifying than praising…
  18. And it’s ok to enjoy a win, something you Ford haters need to learn…
  19. Yes, some schools actually let their healthy players practice, but I get it, Ford haters aren’t interested in details….
  20. Did Pickett get too many minutes? Some think he should never see the court. gobillsgo Posted Thursday at 03:54 PM If that post qualifies me as a “hater” then I guess I’m a hater of anyone I’ve ever mildly criticized. Pickett has single-handedly cost this team games within conference play with his head-down bulldozing drives into bigger and stronger defenders, lack of passing, and turnovers. The team is much better when he’s not on the floor. There, that’s hating.
  21. I guess you’re too stupid to realize that it’s been the Billiken Roy types who have been footing the majority of the financial costs for the athletic programs.
  22. You should be ashamed for making a comment like that. You so called “forward thinkers” could learn a lot from the Billiken Roy’s, starting with loyalty, support and respect….
  23. you will be talking about a whole roster, not just a few players....i wonder if the next coach can promises us there will be no injuries, illness or drama, if so, sign him immediately....
  24. we're not a P5 school nor do we have their resources, Willie.....it's the SLU's of the world who the big boys pick from....
