Does anyone else receive aggressive messages from Big Bill Fan? I don’t pay much attention to posters or if I have a private message, but noticed I had back to back private messages from him calling me a d!ckhead, a loser, and I should be ashamed of myself. I don’t know what I would have posted, but was curious if anyone else is fortunate enough to receive similar messages from that poster. Maybe chill out a bit BBF, it’s a message board.

Unreal, the one who CALLED FRANK CUSUMANO A D***HEAD IS YOU! How come it’s ok for you to say that about others, but not ok for others to say it about yourself?? I stopped posting on this board because of the incessant and irrational hate for Ford, and because of nitwits like yourself..sorry about the interruption, please get back to railings on the deficiencies of our current coach…

Like Frank as a person, and appreciate that he gives the program attention, but I take what he says about guys being “difference makers” with a grain of salt.  As others have said, he’s the biggest Ford stan there is.

Frank is a d!ckhead (I like little about him and the stories about him as a golf dad run quite counter to his Christian values he speaks of), but I do appreciate that he covers our Billikens. Completely agree that any opinion he has should likely be taken with a grain of salt, but his information is directly from the program.

You’ve really outdone yourself with this one.

Seems more like Travis Ford isn’t the recruiter he’s been made out to be.  Losing a recruit of this caliber at this point is just another critical blow to a program in decline.  And we are gonna give it a whole year before we finally pull the plug and start over. Ridiculous.

please note this "fan" will never answer how trashing our coach 24/7 is a help to the program, if your comments are totally irrelevant, why do you bother to post at all??? the fact is, no one knows why he decommitted, but there is one thing we do know, that constant criticism of a coach doesn't help with recruiting...

Also, it's odd that so many seem to think being a "Ford Hater" is only limited to this board...There are reports on this on all types of media forums, and it certainly at some point is going to have an effect....knowing a coach may be out the next year certainly hurts his recruiting efforts, and everyone of you know it.....

Ford has no idea how to construct a roster.

We had two bigs last year who struggled at several aspects.

We had one young big sit on the bench , develop in practice, just to leave when ample PT is available.

We ran off/let walk 2 bigs who could have started for us last year in Bell & Traore.  Those two might still be on this next season roster if we kept them.

I don't want to hear excuses.

There is only so much PT...I don't care.  If a player can't play why are we giving him a scholarship.

But But Bell left because of grades...why bring in a suspect student?

But Traore needed a step down in competition he wouldn't have played here...We are now recruiting bigs from low majors with worse numbers than what Traore put last year.

Let's just play small with Hargrove at the 4....Are we really pinning our hopes on the improvement of a 5th year senior who has been a 8-10 man on 4th place A10 teams.

I shouldn't be this mad about Momo leaving but mistake after mistake after mistake by Ford every year is adding up to a 10 win season.

So every player that leaves is because the coach made  a mistake???? Have you looked at the portal numbers? Is there any team that hasn’t had defections?

  4. “The proof was in the pudding with the great relationship I have with Coach Ford,” Noland told 247Sports. “He has had a lot of great guards with my ability and has had a lot of success with them. He sat down and showed me where I am at with my career and what I need to do. They also need me as much as I need them and that is why I wanted to be Billiken.”

“He is going to get me where I want to go,” Noland continued. “We want to do this thing together and we have built a great relationship over the past three to four weeks.”

Noland additionally says assistant coach Phil Forte played a huge role in his decision as well. Forte and Noland’s relationship date back to Noland’s high school days when Forte offered and recruited Noland as a member of the Sam Houston State staff.

“Coach Phil played a big part in my decision as well,” Noland said. “With me and him having that relationship from the time he was at Sam Houston, there were a lot of ironic things that have happened now that he is at Saint Louis. God led me there.”

Noland chose the Billikens after hearing from Georgia Southern, Houston, Texas Tech, and other programs in the transfer portal. He recently completed an official visit to Saint Louis last week and said he was excited and eager to learn about a program that focuses primarily on basketball.

“I would most definitely say the arena was my biggest takeaway because they do not have a football program,” Noland said. “I wanted to learn more about the program and how it is centered around basketball. That is really cool to me. They also showed me how I would fit, how I play, and the play style that they play. My playstyle matches their identity and I want to get back to that.”

Different players should create different schemes.  We will have different players so different schemes will be needed.  Sorry that you are so stupid that you don't understand this concept.

SLU72 clearly said our offensive schemes suck, did you miss that?

This is like asking, “Who is the skinniest person in overwaters anonymous?”

The answer is SLU had the best offense in a one-bid league…..finishing around 63rd nationally on offensive efficiency per KenPom…

Ok, so how does that prove they had a poor offensive scheme???

  7. 42 minutes ago, cheeseman said:

My comment was to SLU 72 regarding his post not a discussion of where we ranked last season in the A10.  Once again, stay on topic

You’re pretty stupid if you don’t think there is a correlation between a good offensive scheme and scoring…

so doc, you arent a jimerson fan i take it?    because i think the jimerson no defense was an inaccurate assessment.  by year end i thought jimmerson was our best guard defender.   it sure as hell wasnt our all defensive team point guard that got torched by acey for almost 40 points.

    good observation, Roy...

  9. From the VCU Board:

In the last two weeks, I've gone from "cautiously optimistic," through "optimistically cautious," landing at just plain "cautious." At this point I'm holding off on setting my expectations for the '23-24 season. But I plan to have them back to normal for '24-25.

Hopefully we'll have a winning season.

it's amazing what losing a coach can do to a program....by keeping ours, we may possibly be in the best position next season...

If my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle. RPI hasn’t been used for half a decade. What fantasy world do you live in?

Just because it’s not used doesn’t mean it’s not a valid indicator of the strength of a team. The Net is obviously biased against mid majors….

I don’t read many threads. Would you either list them or provide a link to them? Thanks.

He provides stability, well respected in the community, has won 70% of his games the last 5 years, has coach 6 NBA players, has had 8 conference players of the year, very good recruiter which is going to be even more important going  forward, respected by the players he’s coached, has a good relationship with our biggest donor, the AD and President, has averaged 22.5 wins the last 4 full seasons, has held the team together in difficult situations. I’ve also shown examples of schools that remained patient who reaped the benefit in Davidson and St Bonaventure. I don’t think rolling the dice and blowing up the program is a smart or better alternative. There are a lot of good things going on at SLU, why not build on them instead of starting over?

You seem to post often. Have you posted specific bullet point reasons, why you believe in year 8 of the current SLU Men’s Basketball Head Coach? (I haven’t posted an opinion about it here.) I’m just curious. You can either post those specifics here, or you can provide a link to it. That’d be great. Thanks.

Or you could look them up, I’ve posted many reasons for keeping him. Here’s a list of what I haven’t done as well. I haven’t posted false stories saying the coach is being fired, in fact I posted within 30 minutes of your claim that it was bs. I also haven’t deliberately lied about his record.

Good stuff you have to re-recruit your roster every year and this is a good start.   Need those big men and another PG.

What if YC stayed and we also got a portal PG?  Do we have space?

Interesting thought, I wonder how many would actually want him back?
