  1. We just need to ensure that Bradford has weapons - another WR, backup RB, a TE. Robinson, Avery and Gibson are not a bad trio of WRs, but if we had a WR with some size, it could really make a big difference. And Robinson and Avery have to stay healthy, of course.

    I love the Bradford pick.

If the Rams don't trade the 33rd pick, then I will be pissed.

Let someone over pay for Clausen or McCoy, then Sergio Kindle and Aaron Hernandez from Florida.

  2. The hilarious thing is that if Loe would've knocked down the three he attempted the conversation about this game would be completely different. I know that everyone wanted our recruit to come in and dominate the game and score 35 like Kanter, but it didn't happen. Get over it, and make no judgments about his game, because there are none to be taken from such a forum. The supposition that you can tell that he's not ready to contribute because of watching this game are about the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on this board. (Sorry, Thicks and the rest of you, but it's true) The posts guaranteeing him a Billiken Hall of Fame plaque are equally ridiculous, but I can forgive them because they are merely responses to all the haters. I will wait until November when we can see him play for a longer stretch of time with a team that actually runs a well drilled offense to make my analysis on Rob Loe's game. I will say that he was able to run the floor from one end to the other, which is a good sign.

Sure I guaranteed it, but I thought it was obvious I was be deliberately over zealous.

Also, I did notice that he was able to run very well, unlike our previous 7 footer......

  3. My bad, I meant to put first team all-freshman. I see where I confused you.

Gotcha, but you do suggest he will score 9 points a game.

I said 10 and you told me to take it easy.....

The next point is not necessarily directed at you, but I don't think people realize that Loe and Kanter were playing the same position. Enes Kanter, a Kentucky recruit, broke the scoring record last night.

Yes, Rob Loe is not as good as Kanter, but I still think he is going to be a superstar.

  4. If Loe were going to Duke or UNC or Kansas I think he might struggle a little bit Freshman year. But because of his size and shooting touch, I don't know if his strength will make that much of a difference in the A-10. I don't expect him to be dominant and I'm not sure he will start, but I wouldn't be surprised if he were first-team all conference.

But I would like to see him play for the Billikens first.

Dude, you are all over the place on your analysis.

  5. How much do you know about Loe? Seriously, a serviceable center? I don't know much about the kid, but based on the little I know, I'm willing to bet he will be much more than a "serviceable" center.

People are really going off the deep end here, good grief.

Thicks, I'm a little surprised at your reaction. I do think you and others are rushing to judgment a little based off of 10 minutes in an all-star game. It's also true that myself and others probably rushed to judgment thinking Loe would be an instant stud.

Nothing about last night changed my opinion that he will be an instant stud.

Will Barton didn't do anything special, do Memphis fans feel any worse about him signing? By all accounts he is the number 1 shooting guard in the country, and this game isn't going to change that opinion.

But seriously, a serviceable center? A "serviceable" center would be Heinrich or Kenny Brown.

  6. Yes, that is why I think he will be good. But If Loe puts up the kind of numbers that Majerus Magic is predicting we won't have him for four years.

It will take him a little bit of time to get physically aclimated, but I saw a lot of potential last night.

I put a lot of stock into the U-19 numbers, but keep in mind when comparing them to Cody's that Cody played on a much better team and got less looks.

    I'll take him for three
  7. The Int'l team is selected by having two players from five different geographic zones around the globe. The two from Down Under were Loe and the Aussie PG. This doesn't mean that Loe is one of the best 10 international high school players in the age group, it means he was one of the two best from Down Under.

That said, the other 3 post players clearly showed more athleticism and ability to finish than Mr. Loe did. I think he can be a serviceable center for us, maybe a low double digit scorer by his junior year. A lot of what he can accomplish depends on how hard he's willing to work.

People are really over-reacting to this ONE game.

Freshman year: 10 points 5 board

Sophomore year 13 board 7 boards

    Junior year 17 10

    Senior year 19 10

    Guaranteed

  8. I'm holding you to that. April 11, 2010 Majerus stated that Rob Loe will be a Billiken hall of famer. We shall revisit this in four years. I'm all for him being one of the all time greats. Being good enough to help us not only go to the NCAA tournament but win some games, will be pleasing to me.

    Sounds good.

    A case of beer?

  9. Yeah, I thought he was going to go there, too, but hadn't heard anything official yet. I'm not sure we're in on any other Juco guys at this point, and frankly I don't want to be. I don't want anyone else to leave to make room for one; I love this roster we have now.

    +1.

Especially if Femi comes back healthy.

  10. I vote we suspend Roy's account for a few days to avoid the coming "end of times" pissing match......

I am sorry to see Reid go especially due to such a wild injury......

God, I hope he is transferring under his own decision.

That would be a ###### move.

  11. For future reference smart a$$, what is the official wait time before passing on a story? Again, if you really care about Nate, why haven't you subscribed? I guess Frank Cusumano is a low life as well. Sorry to bring such depressing news to the forum.

    LOL. Smart ass?

Again, who said I'm not a subscriber?

I'm not sure about the "official" time, but I do think Nate deserved better than what you gave him.

I'm not gonna get in a pissing match.

  12. I've been a member of Nate's site since day 1..why aren't you? Did you really think only his subscribers were going to find out?

    Who said I wasn't?

No, but I did think it would last longer than 11 minutes before it was posted for the rest of the world to see.

You are diminishing the value of a subscription when you run to Billikens.com because you want to "break" a story.

  13. CS does have more to offer. KC is only better than CS in one area. Dribbling. Next year. With KM MM and JJ we will never need KC to bring the ball up the court. Starting lineup should be. 1= KM 2=MM 3=CE 4=Loe 5= WR. i know i know. Loe is a center. but the fact is he has better handels than WR and can shoot the three. Willie is a Center. think about it and its obvious. Just my opinion.

    You are a dumb ######.

Just my opinion. If you honestly think Christian and JJ are better than Kyle, you don't know basketball.

Alright, that for real was my last post for a very long time.

    Happy Easter ya'll.

  14. I would like to see some numbers that indicate Kyle had a great season. Even if he was playing hurt, that is no excuse to make bad passes and turn the ball over all the time. I really did not see anything from him this year. He had a couple great games. and i mean great. one of those being Dayton. But the bad outweighed the good.

    This is getting ridiculous.

This board has lost its ###### mind.

He was our best defensive player all year, had a generally good season, and people rip him. He has one terrible game to end the season, mind you a game that NO ONE played well in, and he is getting ripped to pieces.

Not to sound like Billikan, but see ya'll next year, this board has gone insane.

  15. How many opportunities does KC have to get before you realize KC is not the answer. You are so used to the talent we used to have here. If SLU is going to ever play in the NCAA tournament they need better players at the 2 and 3 positions. They can't win big with three scorers. When one is off offensively, from where will the help come? If big time ball takes recruiting over players, than it also means that a team has to have players who contribute more offensively when playing more than 30 minutes a game every game. KC is a valuable to the team but, if he plays next year like he did this year offensively, he needs to be a reserve. The same goes for Salecich. It will be a mistake in the long run if JS is asked to not return.

No, I'm not USED to the talent that we had previously.

I look at the progression that Kyle made from his freshman to his sophomore year and I think he has real promise for next year.

So he played sparingly last year, progressed enormously throughout this year, and yet you write him off? I'll take my chances with KC.
