  1. Depends if you want it to be a "quality loss" or not. If UW 's numbers get better than so do ours. You want all our opponents to do well except when they play us.
  2. Nevada is not a bad team...A C team that played above average including 2 spectacular long 3s at the end of the game to win it. Now that UW has Kemp and Suggs back they will play more like a B team.
  3. UT-Martin an F team. This is truly a cupcake team ...our easiest/weakest team of the year. We should see everyone who is healthy play in this game.
  4. They beat Valpo at home. As pointed out last year, UNM at home is one of the most difficult venues to play in. Last year UNM had a slight advantage over the Bills at home. I felt the UNM home court was the difference in the game. This year we will meet them at the Fetz which will give us the slight advantage. This assumes no slip ups between now and New Year's Eve.
  5. Although slipping some UW is still a B team. Now that they are starting to get some of their players healthy they could still have a good season.
  6. Very nicely done. Another nice touch were the approximately 100 easel sized diagramed basketball plays from RM's office which were on the walls surrounding the pavilion. A touching and emotional ceremony. A meaningful sendoff for Coach that really focused on him as a great person not just a great coach.
  7. I have the Bills at B+...we are a good team that is missing depth right now...we tire or get into foul trouble and can lose a lead or fall behind. We have lost to A+, B, C+ teams (KU, UW, SC) No shame there. We will get better when we get our players healthy and have more depth...we look tired at the end of games. We need to try and shut down the opp 3 shots (under 35% and preferably under 30%) We have 4 more games to build confidence, get healthy, and add some victories. I plan on us being 9-3 coming into the NMex game. To me that will be at least a B+.
  8. After last night's game , I have N Tex at C and the Bills at B+. NT is not a bad team....they are an average team...this is what an average team looks like...When an average team has a good game and a B+ team has a so so game it will be close....but the average team usually falls short. We will be better when we get some of our people back and have a little more depth.
  9. Too close for comfort...we should have won this by more...but a win is a win. I give the Bills a pass on this one as they deal with the trauma of RM and also finals. NT shot 57% from the arc...way too high....the good news is they didn't take many shots from there. Next up will be win #3 of 6....Cream puff UT-Martin ....This will be our easiest game of the season. We should win this even if we play poorly. I will wait till UT-M plays their next game to put up the spread though it won't matter much.
  10. I agree with brian and bizzle...the key to this team is to keep the 3pt % for opp down. Last year we were 9th in the nation with a 25.6% for 3's against us. It was something RM hammered away at. If we let up we struggle. In the Valpo game the Crusaders shot 23.8% ....RM would have been proud....and we won the game easily. If we can keep that % below 30 we could go on a long run.I want us to be so good at defending the 3 that the other team passes on the shot.
  11. The Valpo game should be the first of at least 6 wins in a row. Valpo was a decent team ... They have a B rating. For those tracking teams we have lost to ....they stand as follows KU....A+ UW...B+ SC....C+ And we have clawed our way back to A-.
  12. In USA Today's headline they refer to RM as a basketball coaching tactician. I think this was a better way to refer to him then just a coach. It gives that feeling that he lived and breathed basketball. He not only was great at X's & O's but was great at finding talent that others missed and developing that talent. We were lucky to have him. He will be missed. RIP
  13. I am not in the camp that says the season is over. We are still in decent shape at this point. Given our situation we have had a stumble but no major damage to this point. Our 3 losses are to KU (A+) ...UW (B+)...SC (B-). Yes, even SC which was an average team to start has moved up (thanks to the win against us) We are still a B+ team, even with the 3 losses. We could easily win the next 6 games and then have the return of KM. A win over a tough NM team (Bills by 2 at this point) would give us a lot of momemtum going into the A-10. As they say....It's not over till it's over.
  14. Maybe this link will work..... http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=luke%20winn%20majerus&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CC0QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsportsillustrated.cnn.com%2F2012%2Fwriters%2Fluke_winn%2F05%2F14%2Fdefending.three%2Findex.html&ei=rDy4UIq-AYWxygGhw4H4Bg&usg=AFQjCNGJGhfxZvkw-rwgfuGuomi2Enj2HA
  15. This article is a must read for Bills fans to understand why missing RM this season makes a difference..... sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/luke_winn/05/14/.../index.htm...
  16. Wow...tough crowd. No breaks for beginning of the season limited data. Well as long as you acknowledge me later on when I start to "hit" The Valpa game will be the last game this season with any vestiges from last season. Good thing your not as tough on Crews or the Bills as you are me. If you were they would have to throw the towel in.
  17. I would rank Valp about the same as UW in difficulty. We should win this game. However, if we give up a 3 pt shooting % of 60% we will lose again. We need to keep it at 35% or less. Let's at least put a hand in their face from beyond the arc.
  18. I don't know what Crews is but he is no RM. This is a RM team that is not playing RM ball. If RM was looking at the box score the one thing that would cause him to flip out (and to fix) would be opponents 3 pt shooting %. His goal was to keep it below 35% ....last night 60%....or an extra 9 pts...or a win for the Bills by 4. As long as we let opponents shoot more than 35% from the 3 we will continue to struggle.
  19. In addition to Suggs being out....Shawn Kemp their best low post scorer is also out. Romar figures he is missing 20-25 points with these 2 out.
  20. I think it remains to be seen whether we are at ..."here we are again" ...a lot has changed since the RM hire...new arena, new supporters, new seat fees, a more energized fan base that has tasted some success, a better conference , etc.. I think it is wrong to throw the towel in at this point and call it a fluke. Why don't you give May a chance.
  21. Which is why the BE may start picking at the A-10...
  22. What is really sad is they picked up WV and now with out adding Lville or anyone else....WV sits out on an island far from the rest of the B12....both culturally and geographically.
  23. Tex/Ok greed. ...We don't need to split our pie anymore.....could be shortsighted....only have 10 teams...also no conference championship.
  24. This will be one of the most crucial hires in Bills history...besides the normal effects that a hire has...it may affect who or where we play down the road.
