  1. incredible shooting by Gibby. A lot of good stuff tonight
  2. Agree. I would add that Yuri was doing 100% what CTF asked him to do. Why else would CTF dub Yuri "the best PG in the nation" multiple times.
  3. Because they are not billikens fans. As far as I was concerned, Mizzou should have kept Kim Anderson forever.
  4. or even extend his arms when he reaches for a rebound
  5. The national broadcasters assume that SLU fans don't want to hear we have a bad team, so they talk up the injuries to try to keep it positive.
  6. Yep. Time is money. Surely revenues are dwindling with all the ticket give-aways and less "spur-of-the-moment" ticket sales. What if Lindenwood MBB makes an unbelievable coaching hire and leapfrogs the Billikens in local relevance? On second thought, if that happens it will at least spur some major actions at SLU. Competition is good.
  7. SLU's MBB preview for tomorrow's game says this in red below: This is SLU's 19th season as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Billikens have a 163-136 mark in A-10 regular-season games. SLU has won two A-10 regular-season crowns (2013 and 2014) and two A-10 tournament titles (2013 and 2019). SLU head coach Travis Ford is 98-69 in A-10 regular-season games – 31-17 in three years at UMass (2005-08) and 67-52 in eight years at SLU (2016-24). Why would any Billiken fan care what his record was 15+ years ago in the A10 while coaching UMass? That record is totally irrelevant to me.
  8. I kinda remember a "Gary" would call almost every show but I have forgotten the details. What was the story...strange questions?
  9. I bet SLU's power boosters know the amount of our NIL pot. Whether the boosters deem the NIL pot sufficient or not for the team to succeed will affect their support for AD May and CTF after this season. Certainly facilities and coaching/staff salaries are more than sufficient for success.
  10. You need to attack pressure. We are too passive. Remember Yuri making a full court pass after an opponent made basket to a streaking Gibby for a layup? I haven't seen an attempt all year. Everyone just jogs down the court. Very boring.
  11. Brad's 2 games have been excellent. He was the bright spot tonight. The halftime adjustments are clearly not in our favor. we wasted nearly 10 seconds in backcourt every possession. Please show some urgency getting up the court
  12. almost rather see what the Serbian sniper could do over LHJ tonight
  13. The weave can be effective against a man defense but I agree we rarely use any of the options presented by the weave. it's strange.
  14. I would classify the weave as a variation or component of a motion offense, where a decision is made based on what the defense is giving you.
  15. Although Cian had a strong game and LHJ is healing, we still need Meadows back because it is a long season and PG's can wear out.
  16. Brad is explosive off the floor, even more so than TJ or Thames. I saw him make at least 1 mid-range jumper as well. I'm looking forward to seeing his growth this year, and hopefully next year as well.
  17. agree it wasn't planned but kinda glad it happened! you can't dream these things up. Glad we made the trek to the game because I've never seen anything like it.
  18. i said the same thing right when the foul was called. It seemed almost certain L Tech would get at least 1 point in a 6 second possession. The foul wasn't textbook procedure but it sure worked out.
  19. more things to work on, but so nice to see a comeback against a La Tech team that did very little wrong out there. Team seems to be developing some chemistry together.
  20. add Sincere to Gibby, Medley, TJ and Brad, with solid support from LHJ, Kellen, Bruce and Tim and some occasional moxie from curcic and van bussel......and we can make some noise in A10.
  21. actually Gibby gave TJ an opportunity for game winner rather than just the game tying shot
  22. on #2, do you mean Head Coach or any coach (a la Forte)? #5 "personal safety" could get arbitrary but agree there needs to be some outlet for extraordinary circumstances. it's just hard to define.
  23. The NCAA had a chance to look benevolent during the 2-week period but fumbled yet again. I had a glimmer of hope yesterday but now my guess is no Brad until a final resolution.
  24. I don't know how much Brad will help, but he'll certainly give us more defensive presence at the Bigs. Edit: If Brad remains eligible, Sincere comes back soon, and the Gibby/LHJ nagging injuries heal, then I think an A10 tournament run is at least possible.
