  1. That's good to hear. I'll be attending the game tomorrow (only the second game I've been able to go to all year) and I was hoping I would get to see Ian and what he can do. I'm not expecting any miracles from a freshman big man, but it would be nice if he could give Tom some rest and help keep him fresh for the game. Plus if he's as good of a passer as Brad claims he is, that can make our offense that much better. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 2. Keep us updated on how Tommie and Kevin look. Jalensdad, I hope Lisch's teammates were right about SLU beaing the frontrunners right now. Of course I guess he did say a few weeks ago that he really liked SLU a lot and he liked the fact it was so close to home (as per hoopscoop). Maybe Kevin can give us an oral commitment this year, like Polk did during his junior year? I know that's wishful thinking, but that would be great! 3. I noticed that too jmolina. The fact that there was no mention of Brad or Marque bothered me. I thought either one of those two could have definitely received a mention, but I guess I'm biased. 4. You're not the only one Schasz! 2004 could be a wonderful year for SLU...the building of a new arena and the most talent we've had in years! 5. For those of you who don't know, Channel 5 did a list of Top 10 people to watch in sports in 2004 and Biondi and Lisch both made the list. Biondi made it because of the arena and the fundraising he'll have to do in 2004 to make it happen. Lisch made it because he might be the best player in the area already and he "might make some local team very happpy!" Cusumano did the list and hopefully that local team might be the one we all live and die with. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 6. I would think the fact that Kevin has practically been at every Billiken game this year would have to bode well for SLU. I know we're the closest team to Kevin's hometown, but the fact that he keeps showing up, I would think he is very seriously considering wearing "Billiken blue" in two years. 7. I agree with you Billikan. Some flashy guard play (and wins, of course) could definitely help attendance, especially in our new arena. It would be a great marketing tool and I can't see Brad letting it get out of control. The more I read about these recruits, the more excited I get about them! 8. Thanks for the encouraging words Thicks. I think that's exactly the kind of thing us Billiken faithfuls need to hear right now. I think everyone is excited to see those two suit up as Billikens next year (as well as Meyer). I hope you're right about them being the best guard duo ever in St. Louis. Maybe if Lisch joins them, they could be the best guard/small forward trio ever in St. Louis? "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 9. Does anyone know how long Brad's contract runs? I don't remember how long he signed for when they gave him the job. However long it was, he needs an extension! I know he hasn't quite taken us to the "next level" yet, but I love what he's done so far for us and I would love to wrap him up for a long, long time! What's everyone else think? 10. Thanks for the info, Jalensdad. He won a slam dunk contest against Liddell and Price? Now, that is impressive!!! I think the Savvis (and new arena) would go nuts to see our 5'9" point guard dunk on a fast break. This could be one amazing recruiting class! 11. Thanks for the update Nate...keep up the good work! It really sounds like Luke could be a steal for us. He might be the best "pure shooter" the Bills have had in quite a while. If we can get him open looks, he can probably nail it every time, even if he does have a slow release. I'm glad Brad didn't pass him up. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  12. Hopefully that'll help explain why he struggled so much shooting on Saturday. Anthony doesn't look as shap as he did last year. He's too good of a shooter to keep this up all year, so hopefully he'll get his confidence and stroke back and can help us on both ends of the floor. He's still one of my favorites (if not THE favorite) though, no matter how many points he scores. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  13. Well it sounds like the only negative part of Polk's game is his height and as Marque proved for 4 years here, that's not really that important, if you're quick and play guard. It sounds like he can shoot lights out when he's on and I could have sworn I heard that he can dunk at only 5'9"...is that true? "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  14. I think we're all praying that Tommie passes the ACT with flying colors. I also think Liddell and Polk will end up being quite the steals for us and other schools will be wondering what they were thinking by not recruiting them harder. I also wouldn't be surprised if Meyer ends up being a bit of a steal too. After all, he averages almost 30 points a game and dominates in all facets out there. 15. SLU could definitely be a sleeper in C-USA this year. In fact, it seems like we are every year. I guarantee we'll finish better than the pre-season picks say (8th). In fact, I'll be surprised if we finish worse than 5th or 6th. Brad will have us in good shape by the time the regular season comes to an end! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  16. Very impressive Vedad! You could have quite the impressive career here at SLU...let's just hope there's one or two National Championships in your tenure as a Billiken. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  17. You're mistaken my friend. The cheerleaders gave them to me because they found me irresistable, just like all women do! It's not my fault they gave all their mini-basketballs to me, instead of the freakishly tall giant standing beside me. Jealous??!! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  18. Alright MUFAN2000, I'll give ya that one. I wasn't aware that they had signs up or recordings that came on informing people that the conversations were taped. Of course, I also didn't realize that Ricky could read or understand words with more than one syllable either. I still believe him though. But let's face it, we both have biased opinions. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  19. But why would Ricky lie to the wives about getting money from the coaches? Was he trying to impress them, like we was Jessica Bunge? I highly doubt it. He even said he didn't want to take the bball program down or the coaches because they stood by him, so he would keep quiet about it. Plus it's not like he knew the calls were being recorded, so what reason would he have to lie to them? Sorry, I'm not a Clemons fan by any means, but I believe him in this case. 20. Thanks DeSmet, hope you guys see a great game! Don't forget to tell us what you thought of Tommie...hopefully he'll give you quite the display and make us even more excited about next year. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  21. It doesn't look like Jeff it too proud of his alma-mater. The article states that Floyd is considering stepping down as MU Pres. I wouldn't think that sounds too promising for MU fans. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...+happen+next%3F "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 22. I was just wondering who all was going to the shootout to see Liddell play against Grimes tonight? I would think that would be quite the exciting game with possibly the two best players in the Stl-area going head to head tonight. If anyone goes, will you please post a summary and what you thought of both players? C'mon Tommie, show everyone who the best player in the area is!!! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  23. I never said we WOULD beat GA Tech, I said I thought we COULD beat them. I don't think that's being too overly optimistic either. It seems that anyone can be beat by anyone this year. There's no team that doesn't have some sort of weakness and I think we can/will stay in this game. As far as the mini-basketball go, you (nor your roommate) will ever collect any many mini-basketballs and I did last year....5! And if I remember correctly, I was even nice enough to give one to your little sister! So, does that mean if I had a little sister, you wouldn't be nice enough to give her a mini-basketball? I see how you are!!! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  24. I may be the ultimate optimist, but I actually think we can win this one. Yes, I know we usually don't play too well on the road, but I think those days will be coming to an end soon. I like how Brad is molding this team and after seeing their effort against Arizona, I don't think we're gonna be a pushover for anyone no matter where we play! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  25. I think I would have to say Grimes. I know Jimmy is very good, but it seems that good guards are a dime a dozen and we'll have plenty by next year. Inside play is our "achilles heal" right now and I think with some solid inside play we could be a VERY good team that no one wants to play and make some noise in the "big dance". I know Grimes' attitude and work ethic has been questioned, but I think if anyone could get him to live up to his potential, it's Brad.
