  1. He's saying it's doubly bad, because Mizzou's football program is even worse, by comparison, in that conference.
  2. You mean no one else went out and got Babbel Icelandic when Ingvi Gudmundsson signed?
  3. Besides that, I'm pretty sure Kelly Thames grew to a legit 6-8 (or more) by the time he finished college. He was playing center, basically, after his knee injury, because there was no one else really capable of covering the post. I encountered the elder Thames after his playing days; dude is very tall.
  4. It's all becoming clear to me now: <--
  5. A cut? It looks to me like the Venmo and CashApp payments are going directly to him, without a middleman.
  6. There's also the chance that some of the date "TBD" games may be scheduled prior to 11/20.
  7. Also, I would think Phillips should be able to pronounce his name from doing it during the Bragging Rights games.
  8. Not even the fact that the university is sending the letter spelling out the rules to boosters and sponsors? If such businesses do offer such inducements to recruits and the school finds out, they'll have to declare the recruit ineligible and ask the NCAA to reinstate the recruit's eligibility while the school imposes sanctions on the offending booster/sponsor. And if the school "doesn't find out," then when someone blows the whistle, the NCAA will investigate. This is why schools have been hiring consultants or staff to get out ahead of this change in the landscape.
  9. You could be right, but I think the Dayton letter Taj posted in this thread suggests otherwise.
  10. I don't know if it's been decided, or not. But perhaps you're not seeing the difference between the athlete's name, image, likeness and the school's marks (name, mascot, logo, colors, etc.). Surely the Supreme Court isn't declaring athletes can use the school's marks any way they want.
  11. I'm sure the schools and the NCAA will put language in the letters of intent and scholarship paperwork that will prevent players from being able to consider the prohibition on using schools' marks as a grievance that would permit them to transfer. And for a school to allow athletes to profit from their marks should be an impermissible benefit, resulting in sanctions.
  12. Sure! It's something to discuss during the long offseason. After all, the beginning of the season is still over four months away.
  13. They're up to #133. They project Georgia #143 and Kansas State #136. Where do you think the Bills will check in? My guess is that it will be between 70 and 80. I also expect them to exceed the projection. https://www.collegesportsmadness.com/mens-basketball/top-144-previews
  14. That's probably the appropriate place for him to ply his trade. Some guys are a better fit for pros than for college.
  15. Your location says, "Melbourne, Florida"; I'm wondering if it's supposed to be "Melbourne, Australia," because the joke went over your head.
  16. I don't know how tall she is, but she's got more vertical leap than I do!
  17. A rim spreader is not a rim protector!
  18. I believe if you click the three dots (menu bar) in the upper right corner of your post, you'll find the option to edit it.
  19. I believe it's in this thread that the reporter and/or the audience must have confused his being on campus for a visit to Purdue with committing to Purdue.
  20. Reinert said, "Two years ago." I think we all had high expectations last year.
  21. Justin Gage was at Mizzou on a football scholarship, and he moonlighted in basketball.
  22. Majerus signed both Carter and Drew in his last class; Crews wasn't even recruiting at the time. Carter played a few games in 2012 but suffered a non-season-ending ankle injury and opted to transfer at the semester break when Crews refused to try to redshirt him. Drew was redshirting that same season and then left before the next season began because of off-court problems. Crews's first recruit was Crawford, followed by Agbeko.
  23. Two, maybe, but not three. His antepenultimate (3rd from last) class was McCall/Evans/Jett/Loe. Manning/Glaze followed them. Lastly it was Carter/Drew. Am I remembering incorrectly?
