  7. didn't earl austin jr. write a book on this topic with parents. i think youtube highlight tapes of 10 year olds might be a little over the top.
  8. Butler's most competitive game in the NCAA tournament before the Finals last year was against Murray State. They beat Murray 54-52 in a great game. Murray had the ball in the last second with a chance to tie or win, but turned it over. Tough team coming to the Fetz. bad boyz for life
  9. The Streets have spoken. Talk to you soon. bad boyz for life

  12. Saw the Henry kid from Chicago at the Normandy Tournament. He is good. He scored 46 against cardinal ritter in the game i watched. bruce got a good one.
  13. have people been paying attention to xavier basketball over the past several years. they lose great players every year and somehow manage to win the conference and make a deep run into the ncaa tournament. remember, they lost derrick brown last year to the nba, along with the graduation of anderson, raymond. let's now feel sorry for x. they will and always will have the most talent in the a-10. they are a high-major program. granted, losing a player like crawford is big, but x has shown the ability to take those hits and keep on moving. that's why they are xavier.
  14. I was at the game. Our own Earl Austin Jr. threw out the ceremonial first pitch, along with Glenn Close and a few other people. Earl threw it right down the middle. Way to go. bad boyz for life
  15. many people thought temple would slide after losing dionte christmas and his 20 points a game. They have one of the top point guards in the leauge and one of the top bigs and a few good pieces around them, plus an excellent coach in dunphy. their schedule is par for the course going back to the chaney years. temple plays everyone. bad boyz for life
  16. On Earl Austin's website, he just wrote a Billikens season in review where he listed his top 10 moments from this past season. A couple of them are pretty funny. for those who have not seen the site, it's earlaustinjr.com bad boyz for life
  17. when duke's upperclassmen were freshmen and sophomores, they were bounced from the NCAA Tournament in the first round by VCU. the following year, they were clobbered by Villanova in the second round. A much more experienced team went into the postseason with 22 wins, gelled and won a national title. most of their key players are veterans and that makes a big difference. before someone brings up butler, they are young, but remember, howard is a jr., jukes is a 5th year sr., veasley is a sr. van zant is a jr. and zahn, the 3-point shooter is a jr. a lot of experience to surround those two sophomore studs. there were many occasions when we had players going well over the 40-minute mark in those overtime and double-overtime games. Imagine spending nine days in Philly, where they won two games, could not get back to St. louis until Friday afternoon with dayton already here and waiting. When go out and win a double-overtime game against a bigger, more experienced, deeper and more athletic team. and remember cody. he performed without any kind of conditioning base for the season. Can you imagine a team losing three or four players at one position and doing what the Bills did. Sooner or later, it will catch up with you. Michigan State and West Virginia survived and made the Final 4 without their starting point guards, but their performances in Indy were dreadful without them. ask ohio state about having very little depth. They have some great players, but they wilted down the stretch against a much deeper Tennessee team. bad boyz for life
  18. I see CE being more like Singler than Haywood. Same body type, 6-8 about 230 and similar skill set. both can shoot the 3 and we saw cody posting up and taking it off the dribble a little more as the season wore on. Singler was a 4-man until this year when Coach K moved him to the 3. Once he handled it defensively, it made duke a much bigger and better team.
  19. During the pre-game warmups, Earl Austin Jr. came up to our seats and starting shaking hands with all of us in our section. He was thanking us for coming out last night. I noticed that he walked around the whole building shaking hands and greeting people. I thought that was really nice of him to take the time to do that for the fans when he could have been doing his pre-game preparation. a real classy move. bad boyz for life
