  1. So if they update every night, then the A10 #7 ranking includes the 4-3 A10 record from last night. So even though the conf. lost 3 games and won 4 then other conf. must have done worse or else we could not have moved up.
  2. Afan - you are the one blowing a gasket. Let me point one more thing out to you - a board like this is for the purpose of someone as yourself making some kind of an observation based on or not data and for someone such as myself to respond to what you post. If you do not want people to read, consider, and make comments then don't post just read.
  3. Afan - look at what you just posted - you are concluding that we are getting off to slower starts in the second half by showing that we have scored 4 fewer points total in the second half than the first to date - that is virtually the same!
  4. Afan - why post stats and offer an interpretion (by the way I never questioned their accuracy) if you are not willing to have people respond to how you are using them. I just simply drew a different interpretation and tried to explain why and how. By the way, go back and reread your original post you do in fact say that we are getting off to better starts in the first half than the second.
  5. How can you have two "rookies of the week" and multiple "players of the week"? or did I read it wrong?
  6. When did this site get updated - did it include last night? I am not sure the St. Joe and Dayton losses were that bad - I agree it would have been better if they won but who they lost too were not terrible teams.
  7. Afan - your stats don't prove we get off to a fast start in the first half - all it shows is that the other team is also off to a slow start. I disagree, our scoring early in the game has generally been slow.
  8. From your response I take it he is not their pg? Have you considered TL on him?
  9. 2nd half starts are like the begining of the games - we have generally started slow in games so I am not surprised to see the same occur at the begining of the second half. It probably is nothing Brad is saying or doing just the nature of the team - I do think that at UNC, they might have come out and wondered a little about when they were going to wake up from their dream so the slow start in the second half did not surprise me. Then they woke up and realized that it was not a dream and got down to business. What bothers me more is that IV seems to have developed foulitis recently. If he is on the bench this is a big problem for us.
  10. Give me a little help - can you provide some stats on him - size, speed, shooting %?
  11. Don't get so cocky about Ole Miss - I also feel better about a possible win down there but they will be very upset about their lose last night. As Brad said, road wins are very hard to come by - this is the first road win since 2003 at Dayton for us so they have been rarer than hen's teeth. Like I said - their performance tonight and at UNC is very encouraging but I am not ready to place the Miss. game in the win column yet. Earlier I said they had to win 2 of these 5 games - JSU, UWGB, UNC, Oakland, and Miss - 3 would be GREAT!. Now they are in a position to do just that but it won't be easy. If they can win at Miss that will give them a 5-3 record with home games against Kennisaw State, Iowa, Chicago State and Gonzaga. The worst they do is go 2-2 and 3-1 is possible (not easy but at least doable)in this stretch. That would send us in to conf. play at 7-5 or 8-4. Most of us would have taken that in a heart beat this summer giving the tough games we had scheduled. If they loose at Miss. they end up 6-6 or 7-5 not as gaudy but once again not the end of the world given last year. Oakland,Miss, SIU and UWG were never considered easy games, Iowa, Hawai, Gonzaga, and UNC were considered very high hills to climb. Given our young team and lack of a pf - our preconf. record could have easily been 4-8. The point I am trying to make is that the team and Brad are doing a great job so far and a NIT or even a NCAA bid are not out of the question - but I don't want to count my chickens to before they hatch - sorry for both chicken references.
  12. Thanks - after I hit the submit it occurred to me I might have been wrong on RB - thanks for correcting that.
  13. Sorry SDave - Tommie and Ian are better than a healthy RB and TF. RB was having trouble scoring the second half of the season that he had MP and Fish with him.
  14. You still want your best ball handler in the game and that is DP - his ft shooting is better but there is always room for improvement.
  15. I am not sure the PSL program is part of the $35 million - the PSL program - whatever form it takes - is about other aspects of the building and the programs. Without the 35 you don't need to talk about PSLs specifically. Putting the horse before the cart. Also, if you give specifics out about PSLs then somebody will not like the plan and then not give.
  16. Also, the school had a press conference - what 2-3 years ago and everyone has banged them for why they had the press conference and they did not have an actual start up date. You can not have it both ways.
  17. Good point - I also have just sent in another contribution to qualify for this year's tax deductions. I am sure there will be a few people who have held back for whatever the reason who will be disappointed when they find out that for a few bucks they saved they lost several slots in their rankings.
  18. Sorry Skip - he dropped his shoulder and when you do that you are going to get called for the foul - if he had not already banged in to the player a second or 2 earlier he might have gotten the benefit of the doubt.
  19. I agree that TL was jobbed but I am sorry - IV banged into TH twice before the charge was called - it was stupid on his part especially with his foul trouble.
  20. They announced the Research Building before they actually broke ground on it also - I guess there is more ways to look at it than just one: 1. Announce it and people will give. 2. Don't announce it, work behind the scenes and then spring it on everybody. I guess they choose #1. Where is TEE on this he always seems to have some inside info.
  21. DB should be on the bench and I would be surprised if he is not against Oakland. The UNC series - signed contract they can not get out of it unless we agree - I guess they could make it worth our while with enough money but my guess is Brad wants the game for prestige and so no amount of money would change that. The charges are also driving me nuts - there absolutely no reason for blantant charges all you have to do is THINK about what you are doing.
  22. Hey, it is a free country and anybody can do whatever they want as long as it is not illegal. My comment was simply an observation not an indictment. Also, it was made off of the comment posted on the UNC board not here. So the comprehensive explanation was not available at the time. Like I said, it is a free country but that does not mean I have like what a person does just as he does not have to care about what I think.
  23. First of all the Sweet 16 finish was several years ago and was not a result of your current coach. Now that being said - SMS has played well the last couple of years - in fact before that many were calling for Hinson's head. Lets just focus on the issue at hand and that is DM - while I agree that you should recruit for starters - there is only 5 spots available and so mathematically some recruits will have to be back ups. What is going to happen with DM is one of two things - he will come to SLU and go through the normal freshman stuff - sit on the bench awhile, get a few minutes here and there, get 5-6 minutes a game as the season progresses or he will not play defense, get relegated to the bench the entire season and eventually transfer somewhere. I have no idea which scenerio will play out but Brad must think something of him or else he would never have promised to not recruit another player for his position this year.
  24. Can't say I am crazy that Jalen's dad was trying to steer Tommie somewhere else.
  25. I am sorry but if DM is good, I can't imagine that the coach can not figure out a way to take advantage of him. We are missing something here and I am not sure what it is. Maybe his attitude and his father has soured the coach - who knows.
