In the last 30 years only 2 players have finished a season with 10+ assists. No one has had 10+ assists and an assist/to rate of over 3.0 Nelson Haggarty 94-95 season 10.14/3.6 = 2.81 rate Ja Morant 18-19 season 10.03/5.2 = 1.92 rate Yuri Collins so far this year 10.81/3.4 = 3.17 rate Not bad for a turnover machine. If his numbers continue and I’ll admit it’s tougher in conference but if they do his assists per game and assist/to rate will be the best in over 30 years.

Agreed. Imo opinion he needs to recruit better. We aren’t going to be a top 25 team with OVC level starters like GJim and Okoro plus Perkins not recovered or finding his groove and playing like one

Yes disappointed sure, but to use the term shocked? That tells me you believed you were a shoo in. What he should have been disappointed in is his own poor play. He should have been shocked that with that level of play he was even in the conversation

What surprises me is that he could actually be shocked. He had a couple of good games but has absolutely sucked since. He’s failed to convert great chance after great chance. He’s been horrible with his club leading up to the WC also. I’m confused why he felt he was a shoo in.

I don’t want a short term. With the young talent and the next WC being in North America we need to go big. Identify who we want and go get him. I think the US surprised and impressed some people at the WC. With so many injuries in qualifying, we didn’t really get give a real representation of who we are. I believe most coaches would like to come to the US with a real chance to take the US farther than we’ve ever gone.

Yea. Assuming her statement is correct, I don’t think she actually did anything wrong. She asked that no more negative statements be made regarding Gio considering all was supposed to be forgiven. She was Rosalind’s college roommate so she was very aware of the incident with Gregg. Maybe she shouldn’t have brought that up but I can see how it was an innocent part of the conversation. I hope not re Gio. We need him and I’d bet he didn’t even know it was happening. After he resolved his issue with the team, I doubt he wanted this.

I’d assume the emails were sent due to the lack of playing time, but it’s irrelevant imo. This is just a stupid move by someone who should know better. My opinion of Claudio who next to McBride and Keller are my favorite US players of all time has just took a big hit. I think I got the same email from a parent on a 5th grade B team. Classless

I watched most of the 2nd half. McMakin was on fire. Julia was very close to triple double with 5 steals to boot. VCU is not very good and came back from I think 13 down in the 2nd half but the Bills steadied things and took control in OT. Any conference road win is a good win.

My problem with Ford is not how he manages a game or his game plan. You’re talking about a more diverse offense but we can’t do that when we don’t have players with the skill sets to accomplish that. We have basically no inside game offensively, only 1 player adept at running an offense and guards that are supposed to be good from 3 but we shoot 32% from 3. If we don’t shoot better and Okoro doesn’t find his offensive game, we are what you’ve seen. We have a team full of players who can’t score without Yuri or a good PG plus a player coming off injury who is still finding his footing. We have to have Okoro scoring inside, Jim shooting more consistently, and Perkins

I don’t think you’re anti Yuri and I’m sure you can pick out moments where he didn’t make the proper play. However, it doesn’t matter who we get involved if they can’t hit a shot. Every game we lost, we shot terribly but it seems the loss is rarely pinned on our shooting. Why? Because it doesn’t fit the board narrative. Is Yuri or Ford responsible for Jim going 1-14 from 3 the last 2 games? I don’t want to pin a loss on any 1 player as in a loss to SIUE there is clearly more than 1 player playing poorly but if we just shoot the ball to our average, we win.

Neat stat. Yuri - 8 wins 12.6 assists per game. 5 losses 6.5 assists per game. I don’t know why this is so hard for the board to figure out but it seems to be a challenging concept. Hit some darn shots. Shooting percentages in our losses Maryland 36 / 25. We shot 50/22 in the 2nd half and lost the half by 4. Make another 3 or even 2 in the 2nd half. You can do the math. Auburn 38 / 28 plus 29 % from f/t. Doesn’t take super good math skills to figure this one out. Iona 31 / 26 Hard to win shooting like that Boise 31 / 22 What did we lose by? How many more shots needed to go through the nets? SIUE Yep that defensive powerhouse. 40 / 28 We get shots and we get open shots. We just shoot so inconsistently. When we shoot poorly, we score less. When we score less, our chance to win goes down. That’s the way it works. In our 5 losses Jim and Perkins are 16/63 from 3.

Is anyone rooting for Yuri to get assists but the Bills not get the win. Anyone who doesn’t think assists don’t correlate to wins should be embarrassed to post on the board. Rebounds apparently don’t correlate either, our leading rebounder has 0 tournament games let alone wins. Blocks are apparently irrelevant also. You know what would correlate to wins? Our shooters hitting some fu.king shots. That would help. It would also help Yuri pile up some of those meaningless assists.

You really think assists don’t correlate to wins? And you didn’t realize the word might was used as sarcasm? What do you think about Bonner’s rebounds? How many tournament games did he win?

Does it not make sense to you that the leader in assists might lead in turnovers?

I don’t want to start a new soccer thread but RIP Pele. I had the pleasure of watching him play in the late 70’s vs The Dallas Tornado in Dallas. Undoubtedly the best player I’ve ever seen live in any sport. 40+ years later and I still remember.
