  1. I'd agree as we don't have the same problem as football schools as those schedules are done years in advance while basketball schedules are done more on a yearly basis.
  2. SLU accepting that invite is a complete no brainer!
  3. I will second the welcome Doc. I used to really enjoy our games with Xavier and Dayton. St Joes is another good team that I got to see in person at the NCAA Tourney last year. Jameer Nelson is a heck of a player too.
  4. Of course I meant to say Big (L)East in the first sentence of my previous post.
  5. ND is not a football playing member of ND and I would be shocked beyond belief if they EVER decided to join that house of cards as a full member. They just lost the best football teams in the conference to the ACC and added 3 rag tags from CUSA in Cincy, Louisville, and USF. ND is just having a down year, but IMHO Ty Willingham is one of the brightest young coaches in big time college football and will get them back on top. AS to MU and De Paul...I agree, screw them!
  6. There was a time a few moons ago that Tulsa's football program was pretty decent. Now, you're right, it is their basketball program that shines.
  7. Wow tseugnekillib! Nice slam or as he likes to say... Flame On!
  8. Well this should not thrill anyone on this board at all. Do I hear the A10 calling us? http://cbs.sportsline.com/general/story/6805559
  9. Nark, Agree 110%...that dude should just be happy with the money grab his undergrad school just took. We already know where his true allgiance is, so dumb patronizing comments about SLU are not appreciated especially today.
  10. Seems to me like a lot of things in this country, this is going to come down to politics and who has the real influence and power in this league. I don't feel qualified to answer or even speculate on who does, so like everyone else here, it's a wait and see proposition. If I was laying odds...I'd say 60-40 we get in with someone holding a gun to my head.
  11. Torch, Surely, you could not have been talking about this upstart fledgling program who is still bowl eligible. However, I am not too sure what bowl they might get an invite. http://sports.tbo.com/sports/MGAPCBM7HMD.html
  12. The Big (L)East is a total joke as a football conference with the loss of Miami, BC, and VA Tech. IMHO they have two chances of being a BCS player little and none. As to them being the top basketball conference...no way. This year the Big 12 is probably No. 1.
  13. Amen Nark, anyone who thinks that house of cards is on solid grounds...I'd love to sell you some land here in FL.
  14. Apparently, they are going to take USF too. http://sports.tbo.com/sports/MGADLWOKFMD.html
  15. Sorry that we did not order better weather for the St. Louis contingent of Billiken fans. We had our normal cold spell while you visited. I would appreciate it if you can post a note that this will be the game the St. Louis fans are seeing, as I missed meeting some of you folks last year. You can't go wrong for night life and things to do in NO...so many great restaurants and Honky Tonk bars to visit. However, I will say that Clearwater isn't where I would recommend for people visiting to our area especially for any night life.
  16. Too bad you don't have another brother who has a gig at Court of The 3 Sisters in NO...because if you did, I would be paying him a visit at the end of Feb.
  17. You mean Baller44 told us a fib. Where's T & T hanging out these days when we really could use him????
  18. Heck, from these reports on 15 minutes of practice, we better cancel the season, and just mail in our supposed 7th-8th place CUSA finish...no reason to play the darn games!
  19. Just got informed that I have a family conflict for the GA Tech game so I won't get to make the trek to Atlanta. I am now looking at the UAB game and/or the Tulane game. Actually, both of those games are much deeper into the Bills schedule and would enable me to see the full squad. Anyone else looking at either one of these games as possible road games that they might attend. I know New Orleans is a fun town as I have been there and done that. I'm also sure that Birmingham won't offer near the cuisine/night life that NO will.
  20. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to you Reggie's sister. I won't get to see Reggie play as much as many of the others on this website, as I live in Florida. We are very pleased to have your brother as a Billiken player and we are counting on him having two excellent years. I hope he has lots of double figure nights and that he fully enjoys his total SLU experience.
  21. I would agree on p's Fish take. I have said on more than one occasion that Fish played at one of the top HS basketball teams in the Seattle area...Mercer Island. I know because I lived in the Seattle area for four freakin rainy years, and saw Mercer Island compete for the HS championship on a yearly basis. By the way, Snyder also played for Mercer Island HS. To me, Fish has been a very unselfish player and a darn good defender. I honestly believe that he can and will contribute more on the offensive end this year.
  22. AD is plain and simple a gym rat who plays the kind of blue collar ball that his HC likes. He will be a favorite on this website for his determination, strong defensive play, and just plain ovearll hustle. If he adds good numbers on offense then this Bills fan will like him even more.
  23. I also consider Jesse Leonard an all time favorite. It would be nice to see his son play for the Billikens.
  24. I think Phillip will really have to earn his money this year directing this circus especially when you add two more ego's into the mix in the Glove and Mailman. He will have to earn the millions Buss pays him if the Lakers are to win it this year.
  25. I count myself as one of the folks that isn't counting too heavily on any significant contributions from RV this season.
