  1. I was always impressed with Chris Harriman. He knows the area; seems to have been an effective recruiter; energetic; and a good coach. I believe he deserves a mention.
  2. I wish we were at least a good defensive team. It's a shame we lost that attribute.
  3. I always thought a great Head Coach hire would be Chris Harriman. Conk as one of his asst. coaches.
  4. Agree on all accounts. Just curious - do you miss Rickma now?
  5. When we lost Kwamain for the year - we struggled even with our bigs. College ball is PG-driven. If you don't have that key player to bring the ball up, deliver the ball, distribute the ball - you won't win.
  6. A good point guard is required to win in college hoops. Spoon didn't get us to the Tourney until H. Waldman. Majerus signed Kwamain, McCall, and Carter (who transferred after 1 semester under Crews). This team does not have a pg. (or a legit power forward either).
  7. For my coaching wish list, Chris Harriman as Head Coach with Paul Biancardi as top recruiter.
  8. You have bad information. Here is the link, Tatum still one of the guard finalists. Go Jayson! http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/purdue/2015/06/15/purdues-edwards-swanigan-clear-first-cut-of-u-19-usa-basketball-team/71262730/?hootPostID=%5B%273b155ddeb5fba6fecf781fad705c51de%27%5D
  9. It seems the universe has returned to a certain balance with the return of Roy to the Board. I believe Roy's return coincided with the return of Billiken defense and made what I anticipated to be a blowout - into an exciting game. Welcome back. Bartely, Roby, Yarborough, and Gillman are a great cornerstone for the upcoming years. After 3 years of bliss, we have to endure this season and watch the young team grow up. I have to say I like what I am seeing.
  10. Does anyone have information on what coach has primary responsibility for recruiting Tatum? Do we have a coach at each of his practices? Thanks for any info.
  11. I am looking forward to seeing Mike Crawford become a serious sniper. Plus, I believe McBroom will also be a consistent 3-pt threat.
  12. What was the straw that drove BRoy away? I know he couldn't stand Majerus and was not a Crews fan. But I missed his grand finale.
  13. Agree 100% - if we don't make it to the Sweet 16, all the winning and the streak are pretty hollow. Time to "man - up" and play with desperation. Time to play "without the rope".
  14. Where has our defense gone? well, 20 points today off our turnovers. Like any sport, turnovers are killers. We have got to protect the ball better. Also, when we were on our run, Austin was giving us that extra edge in points. We need McBroom to get his shooting back.
  15. Amazing the reaction to two losses. Cut down on our turnovers and block out better on offensive rebounding and we win one of those games. After a long winning streak gets snapped, a lull often happens (see Wisconsin). Let's start bring our A defense, stay fundamentally sound, and let's make a run in the Tourney. Way to much over-reaction to a great season and an outstanding team.
  16. We obviously need to keep Allen under control in this game. Who was guarding him in our first game with GMU?
  17. I was impressed with the attendance and noise level of the students. This is the way it should be for all conference games - if not all the games. I loved the Heads. Keep it going students.
  18. JJ played the A-10 tourney and NCAA tourney with a bad back. The extra experience of the seniors makes this squad adept at winning the close game. Jordair has the confidence, skill, and body to take over games. He is experienced and game smart to pass if they try to overplay him. We are in the midst of Billiken heaven. Enjoy the ride and thanks to the players for all their time, effort, and energy to make this happen. Crews doesn't strive for attention. He deflects this team's success to the players and even plays an "aw shucks" kind of attitude. About 4 years ago I was listening to a Majerus interview on the radio and the interviewer asked Majerus who was the best X/O coach in college hoops. Without hesitation, Majerus said Jim Crews. I didn't know who he was and had to google him. Two years later he becomes an assistant in a time of need. So remember, each opponent is has to deal with the best game tactician. In the past, we would have lost these close games. We have an edge with our seniors and our coaching staff.
  19. A Dr. Chaifetz head was around for awhile. You can never go wrong with a Majerus head.
  20. My sentiments exactly. I hope our seniors realize they are in the home stretch for their college careers. All the off-season workouts, weight room, practices....... They are in position to really go out in a blaze of glory - make every game count. Defend and challenge every pass and shot. Make teams dread to play us.
