  1. Even better! There are no sacred icons.
  2. Thank you for the link - they sound like my kind of people. If you enjoyed "Animal House", how could you not admire this band? And how can you be offended by a nun as a drum major, and not laugh? Deliver me from the bluenoses.
  3. Actually, this doesn't bother me at all. Playing sports is such a huge time consumer, and has the ability to deliver lessons in organization, communication, etc. such that other students don't necessarily get the benefit of. For PE majors or minors, the credit would be a slam dunk. I think it also has its place as an elective with any other major. I'd include band participation, etc. for music majors. There are lots of schools that give credit for job experience in graduate programs. I think this is a fair extension of that principle.
  4. Except Claggett didn't belong on the bench his first year; why Grawer waited so long to insert him in the lineup is beyond me. He already had his shot when he arrived on campus.
  5. This is great. If a different poster each day would tell all he knows about some obscure (to us) part of the country, we'd be ready for the geography trivia game. :+
  6. I'm really sorry I didn't provide the smiley face; I was just making a joke - I attend a lot of practices.
  7. Forget allstar games; they're an advanced form of bucket. Luke was the man at Borgia, and played in a structure. When he played against Vashon, he wasn't overwhelmed. We all know Brad provides a structure, and I think Luke will thrive in it. I'm not writing off his freshman year, and I expect more than Troy Robertson. He might be another Scott.
  8. That's awfully early for me to get up...
  9. Early in the season, he was trying to "aim" his shots; you have to believe in your stroke, and just let it go. When you think about a shot, you lose the muscle memory you normally rely on. I'm not talking about the extra split second you might take to set your feet, if you're left open.
  10. Careful, here 72; guest is the guru, at least for attendance purposes.
  11. I remember when Drew Deiner played in the HS all star game in SL; not one touch! It was "bucket" all the way. He came in for a lot of criticism on this board when our whole team was a mite short on athleticism, but the olympic game sure highlights the value of a spot-up shooter.
  12. I don't know about Polk being a 10; have to reserve judgement until I've seen him a few times. I think Reggie's an 8.5 - he can do a lot of things. I think you're also shortchanging Ike at 7 - if he could leave his thought processes on automatic and just play, I think he's right up there with Reggie. Haven't seen Lisch yet either, but enough have for me to accept he's the whole package.
  13. The last thing we want is publicity on "how good we're going to be." There's no upside to preseason publicity clips. Better to play the games, and be hungry while doing so.
  14. $10? Why are we stinging minimum wage type people?
  15. It works well for me; the key for me is that I have a number of tickets in my name. While the other guys aren't building up points of their own, they got much better seats riding my coattails than they ever could have on their own. It looks like all my old points transferred over, so I don't understand some of the statements about guys going backwards on points. My rank went from 225 to 195, so I'm expecting good seats at the new arena.
  16. Sometimes no snide remark is adequate...Dogbert :+
  17. I was at White Castle and overheard Brad discussing a triple post offense with Angres.
  18. Is going to Central MO to play for Kim Anderson; forget the MU scholarship offer. Saw his dad at the Y this afternoon.
  19. I'm leaving town that day, but then, I've already seen the game. That's all I'm going to say; I don't want to spoil the ending...
  20. I thought the origin of "slider" was at Steak & Shake where they put the hamburgers on a wooden slat and "slide it" to the next station for the next step. Then again, maybe it originated as to how the White Castle burger seems to "slide" through the system...
  21. It's all in the secret sauce...btw, who has the best tofu burger in town?
  22. Let's see...Bill Bradley played for Princeton...
