Does Jimerson entering the portal deserve its own thread?
Nah. The first of many and good chance he comes back anyway.

Not a surprise that he is testing the waters. Will have to wait on Courtside to tell us whether he is considering coming back or not.

We better lock up May now. Offer him an evergreen contract worth 2.5 million right now!!!

I don't give two shakes on who the next coach is. I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over the selection. I'll give him three years to see what he does.
But I did look up McNeese State's impressive 30-3 record. Four of those wins were: College of Biblical Studies, Champion Christian, LeTourneau, and - yes, get this - Mississippi University for Women. I couldn't find the NET for the Women of Ole Miss. But yes, Will Wade lead the McNeese Cowboys to a 92-23 drubbing of the Women of Ole Miss. That likely got him votes for Coach of the Year in the 27th ranked Southland Conference.
They did beat Michigan, but who didn't?
I expect you don't believe me, (I wouldn't believe it either) but here is the link to their schedule.
Yet you post here incessantly. Obviously not a fan.
I mean we are hiring a coach from Indiana!!!! You should be head over heels excited.

The real question of Ford's tenure and Parker why did he keep Parker sitting on the bench instead of playing during his first year?
Did you read my post at all. Off the court stuff, practice antics kept him off the floor here.

He wasn't coming back under Ford. A talented recruit with some off court issues that #teamblue couldn't save. The story of Ford's tenure.

Rece Davis asked him to make the case for their at large. He did. Asked about his favorite Robbie Avila nick-names, he gave 3: Cream Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Nerd, Steph Blurry. Was a good segment. He said the team has to prepare to prove the selection committee right or to prove them wrong either way they have to play a game next week.
I prefer Milk Chamberlain.

I think we can all agree on one thing.
If anyone who knows or talks to Courtside/Chris (you blocked me on twitter dude) has any say in this hiring we are in a lot of trouble.

Did he really say this?!
Man, that guy hasn't changed a bit from the abusive sports dad getting kicked out of the gym during his son's games.
Troy was a one-dimensional HS player who could shoot and had really weird form. He went to Arkansas State, never played (the coach's fault, I'm sure), and transferred to UMSL. He's the 39th leading scorer in UMSL history. The idea that he'd be playing alongside Lee and McKinney is laughable. Set aside the fact that neither of them ever wanted to go to SLU, but if Troy were going to get a scholarship on a team with those two, he would be the 13th guy by a landslide and lucky to get garbage time minutes. Not someone who shares the court with stars.
Slaten said if hypothetically Ahearn had been the coach in 2004 the Billikens starting lineup would have included Mckinney, David Lee, and Troy at the 2. Troy was a decent D-2 player nothing more. They both believe he was robbed of a possible NBA career.

Biting the hand that feeds you is…………a strategy.
What an arrogant prick you are. You don't feed anyone on the board. Your expertise is soccer which seriously about 10 people care about. If you have info share it like everybody else does. Problem is you are fake insider troll that knows more about Vanderbilt than SLU.

The best part of Slaten's rant was saying if SLU had recruited "better" Troy Slaten would have been our starting 2 guard in the 00s playing next to Mckinney and David Lee.

Sincere is gone.
Jimerson will be back. I would keep Cian, Thames, Hughes, & SVB, Zhang and Mougasa are maybes. Ezewiro needs to go.

I don't think Mack is a candidate anymore.
Schertz is getting some P6 looks now. He wasn't 3 weeks ago.
I put zero trust in May to make the right hire and to make a timely hire. My prediction is we get played by multiple candidates and enable them to get raises or more money at better jobs and then we are forced to hire a 2nd tier guy like Wardle or a retired retread.
A real AD would have had McCollum locked up before Christmas.

Schertz in one way reminds me of a young Bruce Weber. It sure isn't the style of play, but with how bad Schertz supposedly wants the job. Weber's time has now passed, but Weber desperately wanted the the SLU job when both Romar and Soderberg were hired. Weber thought the job was the perfect fit for him. SLU passed on him both times. If they would have hired Weber on either of those occasions, especially following Spoon, SLU might (probably?) makes the Big East cut in 2005. Romar without a doubt was a good hire, but Bruce Weber would have been the great hire. I think there is something to be said about a coach who really does view the job as the perfect fit for himself.
I've heard the exact opposite. Weber interviewed when we hired Romar but pulled his name out and when Soderberg was hired he wouldn't even interview with us. He really wanted the job when we hired Spoon and he and Mike Brey were our backups to Sponhour.

More transfers are hitting the portal now that teams are being eliminated, including CJ Jones with UIC. 6-5 sophomore guard from East St. Louis, 11.4 ppg and 4.8 apg; 37% from 3.
He verballed to Cuonzo at Mizzou and then was let go after Martin was fired. He was a HUUUUUGE recruiting reach. Plus we have two almost exact players who are better on the current roster.

I think in the actual prediction thread I said 14-17 or 14-18 with a great possibility that we would win less than 12 and a decent chance at less than 10. I wasn't the only one either.
For me it was pretty clear we would be very bad. I never rooted for it to happen. My father, a season ticket holder since 72, is slated for two knee replacement surgeries in the next 18 months. He may never get to another game. I wanted him to see a sweet sixteen before it was over, not a PIG loss. Ford ran this program into the ground. I hope he and Jim Crews meet up coaching JR High kids in northern kentucky/southern indiana next season.

10 to 12 games into the season Meadows was in the Top 25 IN THE NATION in Assist/Turnover ratio. SLU is PG U.
Broken record.
At one point Meadows did have 43 assists and 13 TOs.
That doesn't mean he was good by any stretch of the imagination. He can't shoot from the arc or inside. He was the worst defender on a team of bad defenders. He was good at not taking risks offensively. This action did keep his Ass/TO rate high but caused his teammates to have TOs and Meadows TOs would be missed shots at the rim. 5 assists and 1 TO is not great when you also shoot 1-7.

I know what you're talking about lol, but I'm still not optimistic like I'm glad that's in the plan and support it, but home-buying is something I'm constantly anxious about.
My wife and I barely have associates degrees, 2 kids under 5, and we own 2 homes and are rehabbing a small property in the city to be an airbnb. The American dream is alive and well. Don't worry!!! You can do it.

Comparing RM's 5 year career at SLU vs TF's last 5 years:
Team defense (ppg allowed) rank in A10
RM 2007-2008 Rank 6 TF 2019-2020 Rank 3
2008-2009 2 2020-2021 4
2009-2010 3 2021-2022 7
2010-2011 6 2022-2023 9
2011-2012 1 2023-2024 15
Team Rebounding
RM 2007-2008 Rank 8 TF 2019-2020 1
2008-2009 9 2020-2021 1
2009-2010 9 2021-2022 1
2010-2011 11 2022-2023 2
2011-2012 7 2023-2024 13
It is unlikely that TF and his coaching staff forgot all about the principles of basketball defense last fall as they were preparing for this season. More likely that these stats are a result of a combination of no inside defensive presence, freshman bigs who are guaranteed to take time to develop, a rebuilding year with questionable NIL resources and an improved A10 conference ( #8 in the country vs #11 last year).
No inside defensive presence = Ford's fault, he chose to run off Bell, Traore, Momo and replaced them with poor players.
Freshman Bigs = Ford's fault
Rebuilding year = Not what Ford said
Questionable NIL = FALSE
Improved A10 = A good thing not bad. When the A10 stunk Ford couldn't beat the best teams and get us in the tourney. An improved league makes more bids possible.
Quit the excuses.
