Don't hold me to exact numbers but they were saying on an espn game last week that the AP top ten had only won something like 40% of their true road games to date. It's obviously hard to win on the road.

I said last 25 years so Bonner isn’t in the equation. Have been following the Bills really since the Gray/Douglass years but had no access to watch or even listen to the games much. Wasn’t until I could catch Rammer and Earl online starting in ‘08 that I could begin to figure out what was really going on.
Eziwero has a higher ceiling than Reed from a talent standpoint, whether he can get his conditioning up to speed remains to be seen.
I certainly don't agree on your Reed statement. Reed brought what this team totally misses. A shot blocking rim protecter. The main reason this team sucks defensively is we have no one who protects the rim. People drive on us and we have to help leaving wide open threes. Reed would be in the NBA if it weren't for his issues.

Your skepticism on all things regarding salaries, contracts, Dr. Chaifetz are noted. Let the record reflect Willie is skeptical.
Guess what? The facts don't matter. Doesn't matter if Dr. Chaifetz saved Ford or not. The fact is that Ford is the coach and Dr. Chaifetz probably has the pull and checkbook to change that. So riling him up to force some action is good if you want Coach Ford fired.
My ***** about this board is someone says something without any real knowledge and it becomes gospel. Blaming Chaifetz for saving Ford is pure speculation and I have my reasons to believe it is false.

I don’t think we should take it as gospel that Dr. C saved Ford.

Some of the comments from last year that we would be better off without Yuri were ridiculous. I pointed out that life would be much more difficult this year for Gibby, who was heavily reliant on Yuri.
Also odd that Yuri caught so much crap, yet Gibby largely escapes criticism for poor performances.
I do agree that Yuri caught a lot of crap for being one of the best Billiken guards of all time .His flirtation with Tennesee caused some of it.

I hate to say it but I told you so.
I apologize to you. I thought your preseason predictions were crap. But you were / are right on.

Where was slu ranked in the past overall in the past compared to present?
Compare slu ranking to D3 school Wash U or how about my daughter's alma mater D3 Rose Hulman. Not even close.
The only thing that's gotten better for slu is the untouched never used endowment fund. I guess we can brag about that
You just picked 2 of the better schools in the country. I think our rankings have been about the same for the last decade or so. I have no illusions that we are the Harvard of the Midwest but it is still a pretty good university with a few excellent programs.

personally i dont think slu has the quality education on the level to be considered a typical D3 school.
Damn Roy. You have gone to the dark side.

We went thru this before. I don't believe anyone on the board with the exception of billikenswin knows what his contract status is. Rumors are rumors. Maybe right but most turn out to be wrong. My gut tells me he would not have been extended last year if even extended before.

Didn’t we used to have a Serb and a Dutchman on the team?
Why they didn’t get to play is beyond me. Sure they aren’t the answer but we have no answer. Why was Gabbie still out there ? 3 shots?

IF Jimerson returns next year, he should be SLU's all time leading scorer.*** However, I believe it is unlikely he returns as I doubt he would return if Ford is not the coach.
***I understand that his 6 seasons do not compare to every other player's 4 seasons of eligibility, but impressive nonetheless.
In the article it said he had a significant local relationship. Don't underestimate the power of a woman.

What happens when ‘unlimited transfers’ meets 13 maximum scholarships? Will we see teams accumulating high level walk-ons, using NIL money to pay tuition to attend the school?
Missouri has 18 players on roster. I assume they are doing this.

@willie: Mrs. Taj and I went down with COVID some time after New Year's Eve. Have no clue where it came from. And it wasn't the cheap COVID, it was the heavy duty kind. Took the full ten days quarantine and then some, expecially fore her. She's still fighting deep rooted coughs.
I'm back but the fatigue was so much it made me not care to post much. That and the fact the board is pretty much unreadable and constantly combative tells me I don't need this shite. Piss ants hiding behind the anonymity of a message board going all bravado on other folks is pretty useless and juvenile. Why share my amazing insights here (wink-wink).
On the national scale, the A10 is a bunch of middling to low D1 players, including Dayton. Some will say (Jeff Rothstein) that their OOC record was great, something like a .669 winning percentage. I say go look at who they played. They lost every game of consequence with ranked teams except the Joeys beating Villanova. And that's a rivalry game. I don't see the A10 getting more than one bid unless Dayton runs the regular season table and then gets upset in Brooklyn. But Dayton is a loooooong way from running the table and DaRon Holmes is no Obi Toppin.
Glad you are better. Now if we can improve your basketball insight. wink wink

i refuse to believe foul difference was that large. no way.
I am not getting in this argument but I will say I don’t think I yelled at my TV once during the game and that is unusual.

Sod outfield. I’m still in disbelief. Throwing good money away literally. Should be turfed!
So if May put in turf would you be on here saying turf is unhealthy and real baseball is played on grass?

I'm not so sure college bball overall is in great shape. Attendance and tv ratings seem to be stagnant at best. Football realignment will continue to screw with basketball. I think it will really hit fans next year when they get a load of some of these new "conference" match-ups which were precipitated by the football money grab.

I was commenting on the tournament. Don’t have Nielsen numbers but I believe I believe it’s still must see TV. I certainly know it is with my family and friends.

@willie: La Salle got smoked at St. Joes. Why only ask me about them when they win wills? Fun Phy is a great coach and he is playing a man down w/o Anton Gill but Gill ain’t THAT good. They played a weak OOC.
Have had the chance to watch Duquesne a few times. Dumb basketball team with low basketball IQ. Clark and Grant shoot way too much and Mahorcic is awful. Tre Williams playing out the season quite disinterested. But we get them at Palumbo.
Davidson looks like a basketball team from the Deep South pre-integration. Not good when Grant Huffman is your go-to guy.
Fordham plays good defense. The Bonnie’s are still searching for themselves. Still think this goes Dayton/Joes/Bonnies but VCU has some good athletes and Geedubya has two good freshmen in Johnson and (some 6’7” guy who’s name start with Bee). We already lost to Mason. We are a PIG team for sure —-likely with La Salle there Willie.
It took you awhile for this

The only way to have a truly level playing field is to allow every team to participate. Give the higher ranked teams a bye or two, add a couple of rounds and 10 days to the Tournament.
Probably see more sustained fan interest nationally.I don’t think fan interest is lacking now

Those numbers seem absolutely crazy to me. Why would Bronny James be worth 5 million reguardless of his last name. As an asside Catlin Clark is doing a national State Farm add. Whats that worth?

Don't think I can root for any team that has Triangle and Too on it. It's a shame that the great THicks wouldn't be able to play.
Sorry but I miss Too. Thought he was amusing.

If this team has any chance of winning games down the stretch Parker has to be the man. Jimerson had very few open looks tonight . He forced a lot of shots that he had to force. He needs another scorer to take some of the pressure off him. I also wish TJ would drive more. Don’t have stats but I think his conversion rate is pretty good.

Speaking of Goodwin I see his minutes are being cut recently. Is it purely a result of Beal being able to play or has someone else on the bench getting the time?
